Rewatching them all again last night. I will watch them over and over. Wonderful. We have a new Jesuit Bishop in our Diocese. My local Tradional Church issued a pamphlet on Sunday saying it is time for us to get angry. My heart sinks. It looks like we are about to be closed down. My heart sinks. Sigh, sigh , sigh. I never heard and heresy or anything but good in this Church. Nothing but good Catholic people doing and saying good Catholic things. Great priests and seminarians. In the surrounding Novus Ordo Churches, profound and constant irreverence and heresy. Plus the Novus Ordo is dying whilst the Traditional is flourishing. It looks like they are about to destroy the only thing that works well in our Diocese. Sigh, sigh, sigh. Terrible times.
The Catholic world is huge but at the same time it’s so small and intimate. If you’re blessed you can actually get to meet the “rock stars,” the true lights, and yes, even living saints of the Church in our day. Bishop Schneider, Dr. Mike Sirilla (professor of systematic theology at FUS) and Diane Montagna are all in this third installment of Mass of the Ages. I first met Bishop Schneider as we sat together before lunch on this couch in Professor Sirilla’s home in Steubenville (screen capture from the video): I first got to know Mike when my daughter was his student at FUS. He was one of the signers and movers behind the very first letter to the Holy Father outlining his errors in Amoris Laetitia in 2017. And Diane is from western Pennsylvania originally. She visited my old parish in Patton PA a number of times for our Sunday Traditional Latin Mass and I was able to sit down and talk with her at length at our Sunday brunches after the TLM. In 2012 we held a pro life at end of life conference in Kansas City Kansas and Cardinal Burke was our keynote speaker and Dr. Giana Molla, the daughter of St. Giana Molla who died following the doctor’s birth, was our special guest. My sons served Benediction for Cardinal Burke following the conference. We got to spend the weekend with them. It was an honor and a blessing. It’s not my intent to name drop. I just feel like Forrest Gump, stumbling into the midst of some of the rock stars of our Faith in our current age. And now that I’m on my own in a trailer under huge oak trees in rural Virginia, and feeling my mental capacity slip away following multiple strokes, all I can do is look back on these events and give thanks for these blessings and smile. This current chaos and evil will be over soon. Keep your eyes on the glorious future for our Church that lies just beyond our present troubles.
They were won derful. I can see why Papa Frankie fears and hates American traditionalists so much. Well American Conservatives too I don't think he is too fond of French Traditionalists either
We have a new Jesuit Bishop in our Diocese which is the second biggest in Ireland. Last Sunday our Traditional Church issued a pamphlet giving us theological grounds for getting angry. Reading between the lines the Jesuit Vishop is about to close down our Church and I would guess this Church is getting ready to fight. It poses a real moral dilemma
I'm looking forward to watching all 3 videos in my spare time. You mentioned Patton, PA. My husband has a cousin who has lives there. We visited last summer. It was very nice visiting where he spent his childhood.
