I have just been reminded of another reason to believe that 2021 may well be a highly significant year. I watched Taylor Marshall's video about Pope Leo's alleged apparition regarding Satan having special powers for a period of 100 years and Our Lady's emphasis on the (then forthcoming) Russian revolution in Russia. The question is when did Satan's 100 years begin? If we take this period to have begun with the final success of the Reds in the Russian civil war (which continued for several years after the revolution) then the start would be 1921 and the end of the period would be 2021.

Interesting point. Right around the corner.
Pope Leo’s vision happened after he had finished saying Mass. It is not alleged. It is true. He instituted the Prayers after Low Mass right after that. Look what happened after those prayers were discontinued.
    Thanks for posting this.

  4. New guideline for receiving Holy Communion at Saint James Parish in Medjugorje. According © David Murgia reporting to medjugorje tuttii giornion (Medjugorje Every Day)
This afternoon during Mass in Italian in the parish of Medjugorje (Parish of St. James), the priest in charge of the Italian pilgrims told the faithful per the instruction of Archbishop Henryk Hoser, papal delegate:
"From today on you may only receive communion in the mouth. You may not receive in your hands. "

    To quote Mark Mallett:

Strangely, it doesn’t matter to some critics that the fruits of Medjugorje—millions of conversions, thousands of apostolates and religious vocations, and hundreds of documented miracles—are the most extraordinary that the Church has ever seen since, perhaps, Pentecost. To read the testimonies of people who have actually been there (as opposed to nearly every critic who usually hasn’t) is like reading the Acts of the Apostles on steroids (here is mine: A Miracle of Mercy.) The most vocal critics of Medjugorje dismiss these fruits as irrelevant (more evidence in our times of Rationalism, and the Death of Mystery) often citing fictitious gossip and unfounded rumours.

I wonder will this practice apply to all the pilgrims attending Medjugorje? I have friends there this week and communion in the hand is still being given.

  9. There was no notice on the parish website, so maybe that was just an announcement for that Mass(?) I hope communion in the hand is phased out soon for the more reverent reception of the Sacred Host not just there but in the United States, too.

Right, received on the tongue everywhere. Sadly we have lost universality in the Church
    At least over this issue.

  11. Relections on Discipleship
"The Mass is ended, go in peace," says the celebrant. With these words the Priest or Deacon entrusts to each person a mission. What is that mission? The mission to bring to the world what we have received during the celebration of the mystery of death and resurrection of Jesus Christ until He comes again. In other words, the celebrant says to each of us: "In the name of the Lord, I send you out into the world to make known the grace of Christ, the love of the Father and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. In the midst of people who still do not know the Gospel, we must be humble, gentle, compassionate, merciful, pure in heart, the peacemakers. Jesus warned His disciples: I am sending you like lambs among wolves. There will be evil and bad men who will not endure the gospel of love and justice, and for that reason, we may be persecuted and, perhaps, also put to death, but you rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward. "

Each of the six visionaries has a special mission: Mirjana is to pray for non-believers, for those who do not yet know the love of God; Vicka and Jakov pray for the sick; Ivan for the youth and the priests; Marija for the souls in purgatory; Ivanka for the families. The Blessed Virgin has said the most important thing is the Holy Mass "Mass not only on Sundays. If given a choice between various forms of prayer, you must always choose the Holy Mass because it is the most complete and in the Mass my Son is with you."

Mirjana has told us to pray for unbelievers
Mirjana said, "I would like to ask you to pray for unbelievers because prayer for unbelievers dries the tears on the face of the Madonna. She is our Mother and like all mothers of this world, loves her children. She says it is important to love unbelievers, and before I pray for them, I consider them as our brothers and sisters, who have not had the same grace we have to know God and His love. When we feel this love for them, then we can begin to pray for them, but we should never judge because as Our Lady says: it is only God who judges."

    Prayer to Jesus about discipleship
We pray for those who bring your peace ...
    - We adore you, Jesus! We adore you, you who sent your disciples,
so that they can bring your peace and your Kingdom. You who long ago
sent them and to this day do not tire of finding new
disciples. We adore you because, through them, You called us to You.
We want to give thanks for every one of them, for each person who
introduced us to life in Thy light, Thy Peace, Thy Kingdom. There
are so many! .. Some of these disciples have even been forgotten. In each
of these disciples we see Your concern and care for our
lives to fill our souls with peace.
Lord, for the disciples that You
have sent, that we did not accept, even these have
brought peace in our lives. We have not accepted their offering of peace because
    our hearts were closed.
Lord Jesus, now we pray for all those in our midst, for
whatever reason who are not ready to welcome your peace, for those
who can not be reconciled with their neighbor, for those who
fail to enter the confessional to receive the Sacrament of
    Reconciliation. Help them so
they can accept your peace, so they may open their
heart, and allow your peace to enter, so their heart will be filled
so they can be freed and healed and become bearers of peace!
Please especially, Lord, for those who reject peace: they know not what they do!
... but You believe they can change.
You have not refused them. We pray that the seeds of goodness, hidden in some part of
    their hearts, can grow.
Give peace to our hearts, O Lord!
Stay here with us and peace will reign!
Lord, when you sent Your disciples before You, You told them
that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Teach us that there is
much more good than what we can see or perceive. Teach us to
see the world with Your sight. We doubt easily the goodness
of man: You see an abundant harvest, of all the people before you.
For this reason we want to pray for Your
priests present here, so that they can look at the world with Your
eyes, and are able to prepare people for the Way to You. Please help us
to discover how to open our hearts for peace.
We want to pray for brave priests, who are not afraid
of wolves they encounter, and have no
fear of being rejected. We pray that the sacraments which they give will fill
Your children with peace, free them from their burdens, without fear, and without
    interest.
We wish to pray for priests who are here among us, and who
have doubted Your mission, who are afraid, and are
more likely to see their shortcomings rather than the harvest to which
You send them. Lord, show them how to walk without fear, how
to prepare Your way. Teach them how to announce your Word in the
assembly, how to bring peace where necessary,
give them patience as long as necessary, so that Your healing Word will
    fill us with peace.

We want to pray that You will give us the strength to do again and again
every day so that we may strive to find the good in others, in people who are close to us,
in what they do, as they are, in what they say.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
And you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. ...

    - Lord Jesus, You taught the disciples that, when they are not
accepted, to not bring anything away with them, no dust, nothing of this
feeling of rejection. We would like to ask you at this time to bless all
those among us who suffer because of this feeling of rejection. Bless us who feel worthless. Among these
people there are also those who have given the best of themselves and at
the same time they were rejected.
And now we wish to pray for all those of us who are
called to bring peace and life in their relationships.
Please Lord, help that we can be bearers of peace.
You sent Your disciples with no bag, no sandals, no second tunic, but they
    were carriers of Your peace.
(Matthew 10: 7-15 These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give. 9“Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, 10or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support. 11“And whatever city or village you enter, inquire who is worthy in it, and stay at his house until you leave that city. 12“As you enter the house, give it your greeting. 13“If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace. 14“Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. 15“Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.")
Your Peace needs no saddle bags or
shoes, but needs human hearts, needs our obedience.
You think we can do it. Lord, You believe more in ourselves that we in You,
You have more confidence in us that we ourselves in You. You have asked us to be bearers of
    your peace!
We pray, Lord, peace in our
relationships, in our families, for peace in our people, for
peace among the nations, so that Your children are recognized as
    those who carry peace. Amen.

I saw this posted on another forum, it may be more of a reminder?

In September 2015, Fr Leon Pereira OP, the new pastor co-ordinating english-speaking Masses at Medjugorje, informed pilgrims that the Mostar-Duvno bishop, Ratko Perić, had given orders for pilgrims to receive Holy Communion on the tongue only.

  13. Sanctus

Sanctus "Jesus I trust in you!"

Great news. There are now three flights a week from Cork City to Dubrovnik, which is close to Medjugorje. Before there were only 2 or 3 flights during the entire season. This will make Medjugorje far more accessible to those living in the south of the country.

  14. Our internet prayer group leader sent news about the Spiritual Retreat for Priests going on now in Medjugorje.
She said that for the opening Mass of the priests retreat there were 257 priests concelebrating and the next morning when all the priests arrived, there were 350 priests from 32 countries! Catechises was given by the Apostolic Visitor for Medjugorje, Mons. Henryk Hoser.
Mons. Henryk Hoser has said that all communion in Medjugorje needs to be on the tongue only! This is nothing new in Medjugorje as the Bishop Peric also asked for this. The church allows Communion both ways, on the tongue and in the hand but there have been some cases of irreverent Communion reception and so it was the right time to make this announcement. She also said that for those going to Medjugorje, there is no hand-holding for the Our Father although you still see some mainly from the U.S. doing this and the Sign of Peace if just brief, mainly to the person beside you. There are many Holy Masses per day with a strict time limit to make sure all the languages are able to have Holy Mass in the mornings in their own language.

"The Fruits of Medjugorje"......I can say that I agree there are plenty. I have family members who I believe have benefited from them; yet in my opinion, Medjugorje lacks the amount of physical evidence of the supernatural that would be expected of an apparition event that has been going on for 39 yrs. Lourdes and Fatima have proven something of the supernatural. Garabandal apparitions have at least presented the supernatural (miracle of the host on video from the 1960s), where as Medjugorje has failed to do so with our current technology. I point this out because it was technology that convinced me to question the Medjugorje apparitions. To have a seer flinch during an ecstatic apparition (caught on video), and state the flinch was because The Virgin Mary dropped baby Jesus.... is disappointing and is a cause for concern. After studying this apparition extensively, its my opinion the local Church jurisdictional issues with Yugoslavia's communist government and the Catholic Church that may have contributed to this apparition. I think maybe as others do... that these apparitions were from God in the beginning and with Pope John Paul II's fight against communism helped fuel the apparitions that have created the "fruits". This apparition has always been a tough one for me. Like you I've personally seen the "fruits", but I've also seen the flinch video. I compare it to video 20 yrs older of Garabandal and see more convincing physical evidence of the "supernatural".

Agreed on Medjugorje, but on Garabandal I'd say there is evidence of preternatural. Angels on both side could have performed those signs.

I know that those who follow these apparitions are very passionate about them, so you can expect a lot of push back. IMO, there isn't much problematic when it comes to the messages and Church doctrine. The biggest danger is that of despair when the events predicted at those sites do not come to fruition. So I tend to pray for those who a missed prediction(s) would affect their faith, especially if they found it there, and don't put up too much of a fight on these. Like in all tings time will tell.

Now I'm going to duck out before things go south on this thread :)

I agree with you 100%. Your belief of "preternatural" evidence is right on. I just dont want to believe that but have come to the realization that it may very well be true. God Bless.

  20. You had the same question in this thread http://motheofgod.com/threads/dont-hate-me-just-questioning.11630/page-4 and defenders couldn't adequately answer your doubts. I refer you back to that thread for those trying to address your concerns. You do not have to believe in Medjugorje, the messages are meant to help us, not hurt us.
