Message of August 25, 2022 “Dear children! God permits me to be with you and to lead you on the way of peace, so that through personal peace, you build peace in the world. I am with you and intercede for you before my Son Jesus that He may give you strong faith and hope in a better future, which I desire to build with you. You be courageous and do not be afraid because God is with you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
The enemy is a liar who wants us to dwell on all the ways we fall short of the mark each day. Today, I spent most of my time with Geralyn; so I looked for an opportunity to work together and at least one occasion to compliment her (not hard to do). Showing appreciating and helping out are simple acts that go a long way.
Yes, I remember December 9, 1987, when my little family (then) visited the monastery where Fr. Jozo encouraged us.
Another religious movie is in the making on the life of Padre Pio with actor Shia LaBeouf playing Padre Pio. Then there is the movie being made about the life of Father Amorth with Russell Crowe, so maybe small steps in conversion of unbelievers will be forthcoming....
Archbishop Cavalli, Apostolic appointee to Medjugorje was interviewed recently. Here is the transcript from Bruno Temil Medjugorje - Interview with the Apostolic Nuncio Monsignor Aldo Cavalli, who succeeded the late Monsignor Henryk Hoser. Archbishop Aldo Cavalli is 75 years old, born in Muggianico di Lecco, Lombardy, into a family of bakers. Excellency, what have you been able to observe since you have been in this particular "cell" of the church which is Medjugorje? "I have been here for a few months, however in this period I am seeing many people who are returning to this place. I have seen that pilgrims from all over the world come to Medjugorje for a very specific purpose: to pray!" At what times of the day do we meet for prayer? Every day I see many people who savor these moments of intense prayer with the desire to change their life. That is why the faithful ask for many confessions every day in this place of Grace! " What are the pilgrims who reach Medjugorje looking for? Here everything is aimed at the encounter with Jesus Christ through the Virgin Mary. I have seen people from all walks of life from all over the world renew themselves internally and seek the peace that the Risen Christ gives as it was for the apostles in the Upper Room. It is the peace that I am able to give Christ, it is that the strength that the Holy Spirit infuses to each of us to then return to our homes, parishes, families, with a new spirit, at the service of Good and fraternal Love. You were sent by Pope Francis. Is the Holy Father therefore aware of everything that happens in Medjugorje? What is the position of the Church in this regard? The pope is aware, yes! I had the opportunity to meet him before coming here and I can say that he is very serene about it and is pleased to have sent, already with my predecessor Msgr. Hoser, an archbishop who helps all faithful, and pilgrims, through the Virgin Mary, to meet the Lord Jesus, and who follows in his name what happens here. This action has meant a lot: it means that the universal Church has at heart this particular part of the church characterized by a profound recognition of the Virgin Mary. For my part, I renew to everyone the invitation to come to Medjugorje to pray and be accompanied by the Virgin Mary to the encounter with the Lord Jesus who is peace " Bruno Temil Transcribed from "MEDJUGORJE ALL DAYS"
Message of September 25, 2022 "Dear children! Pray that the Holy Spirit may enlighten you, that you may be joyful seekers of God and witnesses of love without bounds. I am with you, little children, and, anew, I am calling all of you: take courage and bear witness to the good works which God is doing in and through you. Be joyful in God. Do good to your neighbor so that it will be good for you on earth, and pray for peace, which is threatened because Satan wants war and peacelessness. Thank you for having responded to my call."
I love that Our Lady admonished to be joyful. Despite all these dark world events and confusion even in the Church… she say be joyful. And I dont think by joyful , she means “happy” but real Christian joy - knowing that suffering brings redemption. The Cross must come before Resurrection. Our Lady lived and experienced it, so I think her message of joy is quite profound. Praying for the grace to be joyful. Peace
Marija and Fr. Livio on the September 25, 2022 Message September 27, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! Here is the discussion between Marija Pavlovic Lunetti and Fr. Livio on the September 25, 2022 Message from Our Lady of Medjugorje: Dear friends sorry for been late but we had some technical problem, and now Marjia is on air from Medjugorje and she is about to give us the September 25, 2022, Message from Our Lady, Queen of Peace: Hi Marjia! M. Hello Fr. Livio and a greeting to all Radio Maria’s listeners. Today, like every 25 of the month, Our Lady gave us the following message: “Dear children! Pray that the Holy Spirit may enlighten you that you be joyful seekers of God and witnesses of love without bounds. I am with you, little children, and, anew, I am calling all of you: take courage and bear witness to the good works that God is doing in and through you. Be joyful in God. Do good to your neighbor so that it will be good for you on earth and pray for peace, which is threatened because Satan wants war and peacelessness. Thank you for having responded to my call” Fr. Livio: Marjia make some considerations. It seems to me a very beautiful and comforting message. Marjia: Yes, the message is awesome because every time it seems to me that Our Lady has something more to say and today she still invites us to pray “that the Holy Spirit may enlighten us that we be joyful seekers”. In Croatian it is a new word and a single word "bogotražitelji", seekers of God, witnesses of his immense, unlimited love. We are experiencing this love through all these years in which Our Lady is helping us to build a world of holiness, to be joyful witnesses for peace, in contrast to the one without God that belongs to the devil with war. In Medjugorje there is a place indicated with a statuette that designates the place where Our Lady in the early years called us for the first time to confession and allowed us visionaries and the people with us to touch her gown. Whenever I get close to that place (I love to go there at night) I feel very excited. So, it was today! She told us to be joyful witnesses of God and of His immense, endless love. We are witnessing paganism and atheism which together with other ideologies are taking us away from God. Our Lady does not get tired of telling us: “courage!” She is inviting us once again to courageously witness the works that God does within us and to our neighbor through us. I wanted to share with you an extraordinary testimony about "being united". A group of parishioners of all ages arrived for the apparition, walking 38 km to ask for the healing of a 16-year-old girl whom the doctors had given no hope due to a virus that had made her fall into a deep coma. Because of the strong and firm faith of the parish priest who accompanied the group, the prayers, fasting, and adoration performed by the people, a miracle of the girl's complete recovery occurred. She herself with her mother came to Medjugorje and together with me we thanked Our Lady. It was a testimony of profound faith, and this courageous act on the part of the priest showed us that Our Lady responds to our requests. On the hill, in addition to the group, there were also other priests present for the apparition and in this regard, Our Lady restated the importance of asking the priests for blessings and prayers directly on us. So, with great emotion I reported what Our Lady had told me to tell them, which was that their "blessed" hands infuse the blessing of God. I can give many examples of this - so emotionally strong - that have happened in Medjugorje in which those who ask with faith, receive a prompt response! Even just by witnessing the enormous love that God has for us, causes the conversion of so many young people who have not received any gift as yet. Our Lady is encouraging us to pray to the Holy Spirit so that we can be enlightened, joyful bearers of peace and respect and help each other “because it will be good for us on earth” as She says. If while Satan is strong, God's joy and love are even stronger, we must believe in it! We can become witnessed and intercessors for those who are far away and have not yet known God's love. F.L. Marjia I wanted to ask you something: when Our Lady tells us to bless and pray, do we have to do as She does and extend our hands above your heads? M. Yes, Our Lady usually extends her hands, looks at us, blesses us while we realize that Heaven has come down to earth. Our life is a passage towards eternal life, and She tells us not to be afraid of evil, but to live good by witnessing peace and prayer. F.L. Marjia, She used the word joyful several times, as if to say don't be sad. M. Yes, just lately Our Lady has been very joyful. She is encouraging us to become seekers of the Good, of Peace! And the Lord enlightens us through the Holy Spirit until we become docile witnesses. It is also through the reading of Sacred Scripture that we become instruments where God works in an extraordinary way, making us find that necessary courage towards our neighbor who could be a pagan or one in search of God who does not know Him at all, approaching them just as the first Christians did. It could be a relative of ours, a nephew, a son, or a neighbor who has restlessness in his heart and in need of finding that peace that only comes from God through prayer and our support. F.L. This struck me very much: "I call you all again." It is as if Our Lady is calling us because we are a bit scattered all over the place, we are a bit lost and She calls on us to follow her, She calls on us to listen to Her, to move, to be brave to overcome fear! We should answer this call. M. Yes, Our Lady is encouraging us and telling us to bear witness to the good works received from God so we will be admired for our beauty, holiness, love, and gratitude, like this recent experience I had a few days ago with the healed young girl. When someone gave a testimony, then the others in the group are encouraged to tell their stories, and so, on the same evening, open hearted and full of love, the priests who were present also opened up about their story of how they received the call right here in Medjugorje, making this gathering truly exciting. F.L. Marjia I wanted to tell you one last thing; it is true that in the world there are those who hate God, but the majority of people are as if they were empty waiting for the Light, for joy, for something positive that is, there is a great expectation in this emptiness that we find around us. M. I see it in Medjugorje when people come with a great desire to have supernatural experiences and I send them to the hill of apparitions where there is room for everyone. Pray, also try to sacrifice some of your sleep early in the morning or late in the evening. Many times, people tell how by reading and living the messages, the Sacred Scripture, and climbing the hill of the apparitions, they feel the positivity, the inner peace, and receive the miracle. A lady told me the other day that she had been trying to go to confession for years and had lost the courage to do so after so many negative experiences she had through the priests. Here in Medjugorje, the Lord gave her this opportunity, she found the right priest who allowed her to trust and open her heart by making a good confession. This is one of the miracles that the Lord works where so many wounded people find the strength to start a new life. F.L. Marjia, I would like you to also say a few words of encouragement to our listeners in these difficult moments: how Our Lady is with us and comes every day and that .... M. I am a witness Father Livio, together with Vicka and Ivan of the fact that the Lord is still merciful and that He is still sending us our dear little Madonna, our Queen of Peace who punctually arrives every day and appears, loves us, calls us, and walks with us to take us to Her Son Jesus. She made us fall in love with Her from the beginning and we did it trusting Her! We began to follow Her messages, we began to put them into practice, we chose holiness, chose a new life with God and today we can say that we have not turned back because the Lord is merciful, because even today He isn’t tired of us and is calling us together with his Mother - granting us immense love. continued below
continued God's Love is not human but Divine! And for this I say to all of you: courage, pray the Holy Spirit to enlighten you so that you can live well here on this Earth and that this is a moment of grace. The presence of Our Lady is a gift that I could never have imagined and today we can say THANK YOU with all our hearts for every moment in which She appears, encourages us, loves us, and believes in us by telling us that we can change this world. She says She is with us and intercedes through her Son and says: "Who is against us if God and Our Lady are with us?" This is why I am stating over and over that you must not be negative but enlighten people, those joyful ones who love God, love their neighbor, men. God is giving us His Mother to tell us that He does not leave us alone. My prayer is for all of you who are in a trial with problems relative to your jobs, health issues; Courage, offer all your sufferings to God who can use the good for your families and for all mankind. We must be the pipes that bring water into the desert and where there is no faith bring it with our offerings and sacrifices, sufferings, prayers and small fasting. Our Lady said that through suffering, prayer and fasting even wars can be stopped. We experience it in small and big things that the Lord does, and He calls on us to be his collaborators. We are here but Medjugorje is not a physical place alone, but it is in the hearts of many people who, returning to their homes, begin to live their faith deeply again by witnessing both in their workplace and in their family where they pray together, read the Sacred Scripture, the messages of Our Lady, the lives of the saints who become our example, such as Saint John Paul II or as those we have known and who have always behaved in a holy way. For example, Mother Teresa of Calcutta and even many others who have not been proclaimed saints but have nevertheless lived in a holy way and for us they are an example of a model of life. I wish this to all of you. May you live in a holy way, live with joy and serenity in your heart because God loves us and sent us His mother to tell us that we are not alone! She has not abandoned us to ourselves: Her "Thank you because you have responded to my call" is to tell us that She is counting on our collaboration also in these latest messages. F.L Thanks Marjia, Your words to us are beautiful! Now let's conclude with a prayer: In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit… In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Irish man able to walk after rosary placement on Medjugorje statue Des Fitzgerald (82) from Greystones spent hundreds of euros to buy a 1 meter high statue of the Virgin Mary and built a chapel in his garden after the "miracle" happened. Mr. Fitzgerald, a widower and father of four, was confined to a wheelchair for ten years after injuring his leg in an accident. He could only walk with the help of a walker, writes Mysticpost. des-fitzgerald-2.jpg Photo: Irish mirror However, he was surprised when just 10 minutes after placing his hands on the statue and saying the prayer "Hail Mary", he was able to walk unaided. In the week since the Limerick Leader newspaper published his story of him, Fitzgerald says he has seen scores of people come from other parts of the country in hopes that their suffering would end too. One of the earliest visitors to the chapel's blue lights illumination of her garden was a lady from Kilkenny. She traveled with a group of friends to pray the rosary here. "She told me that she is about to have surgery and that she is afraid that it may be cancer, she asked to if she could take the rosary off and touch her stomach with it. very emotional, I cried when she did, ”Fitzgerald told the local Limerick Leader newspaper. Others knelt before the statue and prayed. The parents of a wheelchair-bound child from Cashel arrived, a Galway mother was led by her son to the chapel to touch the statue and pray. Mr. Fitzgerald said people offered him money to pray in the chapel, but he didn't accept it. He has received letters with prayers which he intends to deliver to the Redemptorist Church of Limerick. "I don't want anything. I made the mistake of not setting up a box where people could leave their written prayers." Despite the strong winds, he didn't bring the statue indoors when Hurricane Ophelia approached. "Nothing moved around the chapel, not even the trees. I couldn't believe there was no damage. If something had happened, it would have been God's will, but Our Lady protected us." Recalling his “miracle”, Des said: “I asked a builder to find me a statue of the Virgin Mary and he brought it to my house the next day. I put the Medjugorje rosary around the neck of the statue and told the builder to let me go for a few minutes to recite the Hail Mary. I prayed, put my left hand on her head and asked her to protect me and restore my health. I've been in a wheelchair for ten years and couldn't walk 10 meters without sitting down. Kip was only with me for 10 minutes and I was already able to walk. It was a miracle! To prove it to myself, I went from home to the front door and back. I couldn't stand on my own for a minute, "he told the Limerick Leader. About fifty people attended the inauguration of the chapel and many others have visited since then. Fr Tom Mangan, pastor of Donaghmore said: " Any place of devotion and faith that helps people is worth encouraging." If you are nearby, the Greystones chapel can be visited every day from 11am to 8pm. Source: Mysticpost
from the Spirit of Medjugorje October 2022 newsletter From Mary to Jesus in Medjugorje: My Experience By Father Joe Mills OCTOBER 2022 - 5 - THE SPIRIT OF MEDJUGORJE We thank Michael Douglas from Ireland for permission to use the following story from his book, Medjugorje, the Road to Damascus. Testimony of Father Joe Mills on his reluctance to join a pilgrimage to Medjugorje and its effects on him. I had picked up on some of the publicity that appeared after the reports of the visionaries back in 1981. I was immediately impressed, so much so, that I remember relating the story to a class of first year pupils in St. Patrick’s Secondary School in Dumbarton. But, it would be some 23 years later that I would agree to visit this famous shrine. What had disillusioned me, in the meantime? Simply the reports of pilgrims that their rosary beads had turned gold and that they all seemed to have seen the sun spinning in the sky. Like most of my fellow priests, all those claims confirmed a scepticism that may well be bred as a result of our theological background. We were trained to treat such phenomena with great reservation. I may say here that we priests, when we get together socially, can often unintentionally discredit private revelation to the point where any attempt at a serious examination of the claims becomes impossible. I was part of all that. The result of this was that in the different parishes to which I had been appointed over the years, I would inevitably be approached by members of the parish prayer group and be invited to accompany them to Medjugorje. No amount of persuasion would entice me – not even a promise to pay my fare!! Having been appointed to St. Mary’s Church, Duntocher, in 2004 (on the western side of the Archdiocese of Glasgow) I was approached again by the ladies of the prayer group. I told them that I would go with them if I could get a “supply” [substitute] for the parish. That was really a “get-out” clause; I wasn’t going to go out of my way to get someone for that particular reason. I should have known better. The prayer group simply booked me onto the flight and that was that. I felt obliged to get another priest to fill in. It would be an exaggeration to say that I went off to Bosnia-Herzegovina screaming and shouting, but nor did I feel that the trip had been my idea. I was to find out just how true that was to be. The moment I stepped off the coach and put my feet on the pavement in Medjugorje, I could feel the atmosphere of peace. This, in spite of the fact that the rain was “bucketing” down and it was pitch black. I helped an elderly lady with her luggage and she led me to the wrong boarding house. I fought back the agitation and irritation, in spite of which, I still felt a strange calm. After waking up the first morning, to a beautiful bright day, I made my way down to the church to meet the other pilgrims to attend the customary briefing. After that, the whole week seemed to flash by in a kind of blur. I hardly had time to stop even for a personal prayer! If you’re a priest in Medjugorje, you are in constant demand. If you are not accompanying people up hill and down dale from the “Hill of the Apparition” to the “Hill of the Cross”, you are leading the rosary or spending hours hearing confessions. Someone is always looking for you to share some burden or even to ask you to bless a medal, a statue, or a pair of rosary beads. To say that there is never a dull moment is the understatement of the year. On October 7th, the Feast of the Holy Rosary, I was invited to be principal concelebrant at the “English” Mass. This happened on the second day of the pilgrimage. I decided to explain in my homily how the mysteries of the Rosary direct us beautifully to the redeeming love of Christ. I happened to mention that I personally had found that when I felt that I was not being faithful to my prayers, or that I felt dried up and uninspired, if I turned to Our Lady, She always directed my attention back to Her Son – a simple enough thought and in no way original. However, I was to recall those words a few days later. They were to be reborn in my heart in a very dramatic way. But before I describe that extraordinary experience, let me share with you the elation I felt at ministering to so many people who were experiencing radical conversion and deep repentance of their sins. The queues for Confessions and the faith of the people took me back to the Church as I remembered it many years ago.
continued post I watched the people reciting the Rosary all day and every day. I began to examine my conscience to discover how my sophistication had robbed me of that natural and simple faith that I had been taught by my parents. The night before we left Medjugorje, pilgrims were still coming to visit me in my room for absolution and blessings. I don’t remember feeling tired that night because Our Lady had visited me with an extraordinary favor that will stay with me for rest of my life. That afternoon, immediately after lunch, I found myself with some time to myself. I remember thinking that I had hardly had time to say a wee quiet prayer just for me. I sat to the side of the beautiful statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje in the square and opened my Breviary to recite the afternoon prayer of the church known as Vespers. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, but I became distracted from my prayer as I noticed a blue-black mark, like a pencil line on the statue running down towards Our Lady’s chin, on the left of her face, the side nearest to me. It seemed faint at first and I would have ignored it, I’m sure, if the mark had not got more pronounced and darker or blacker as it seemed to me. I put down my Breviary, and got up to walk round to see the face full on. As I watched, another, similar black mark, which looked at first like a stain, appeared down the right side of Our Lady’s face. After some time, I could see that these marks or stains joined together and I knew that what I was looking at was a beard. All this took a fairly long time. The whole experience, which I shall describe in detail, took one and a quarter of an hour. While the face was disfiguring slowly, I did not believe what I was seeing, and pretended to myself that someone had disfigured the Holy Image. I bent over the little railing to see if someone perhaps might have trodden over the flowerbed to get to the statue but, of course, the flowers were untouched. The next significant thing I remember was that Our Lady’s nose had become very masculine, and finally I realized that what I was looking at was the face of Christ. I left my spot in front of the statue and went back to where I’d left my prayer book to see the face in profile. It looked like what you and I would describe as the face of Jesus. But there was more drama to come. As I returned to face the image full on again, I noticed that the chin began to twist to one side. Before it had done so, and Our Lady’s face had still been recognizable, Her lips had begun to swell as though She had received a heavy blow or blows to the face. I thought of the way two lads would look in the schoolyard after a bruising fight. I also saw that at the beginning of this experience, Our Lady’s face had been stained by patches of dirt that were visible on Her forehead, Her face and hands, and even on the wrist of Her outstretched left hand. The dirt was ingrained like that of a miner. Several people passed by, walking round the statue, as they do. I got a chance to ask one lady whom I recognized as a friend and fellow pilgrim: “Can you see anything?” She said she did, but then moved off to consult her husband!! Two nuns knelt beside me; both, I think, saying the Rosary. I asked the older one if she could see the face on the statue. She looked at me blankly at first and then, I thought, suspiciously. After a second question in an attempt to get, some “back-up”, she said, “No capisce, Padre.” She then clasped the arm of the young nun and they both fled! I should still have been in doubt, if it had not been for the eyes that appeared standing out of the marble, as it were. In spite of all that had gone before, I did not quite believe what I was seeing. But as these eyes replaced the ones on the statue, I felt instantly that I was having a genuine supernatural experience. For me, they were the eyes of Christ. They were tearful, but tears were not actually shed. These eyes seemed to stand out from the rest of the vision. It is very hard to explain. It was something like the 3-D experience in film but even more pronounced. That was my experience at Medjugorje in BosniaHerzegovina. I know it went on for one hour, fifteen minutes because I looked at my watch before opening the Divine Office to pray at 2:15 pm, and at the end of the “manifestation.” I asked Our Lady’s permission to go for my four o’clock meal. As I retell the story, this always causes a laugh, especially for those who know what a healthy appetite I have. But seriously, those who have been on pilgrimage to Medjugorje know how important it is to get the evening meal over because there are so many things still to be done, especially by a priest, in the evening. It was now 3:45 pm. The face on the statue was still not normal. Our Lord’s face had gone, but the face of Our Lady continued to show distortions: quivering swollen lips and the black stains mentioned before, but the movement now had become quieter and less dramatic. I hardly ever see that statue exactly as it was sculpted. The Holy Mother always displays some kind of mark or distortion on Her face, when I am in front of Her. I organized a youth group, to return to the shrine. They went back to their secondary school and astonished the whole staff by leading the Rosary at the school assembly. Many of these kids had not attended Mass or the sacraments before their trip to Our Lady of Peace.
Our Lady's Message to Medjugorje Visionary Marija for October 25, 2022 Here is Our Lady's Message for October 25: "Dear children! May the Most High allow me to be with you and to be your joy and way of hope because humanity has decided to die. That is why he sent me to teach you that without God you have no future. Be, little children, instruments of love for all those who have not met the God of love. Testify joyfully of your faith and do not lose hope in the change of the human heart. I am with you and I bless you with my motherly blessing. Thank you for answering my call." I hope something drastic isn't about to happen.
Dear children! The Most High permits me to be with you, and to be joy for you and the way in hope, because mankind has decided for death.
Has anyone considered that the big Marian Apparitions seem to follow a theme: LaSalette = Penance Lourdes = Cleansing Fatima = War Garabandal = Persecution Medjugorje = Peace I think we should line those up serially, historically, personally: Penance -> Cleansing -> War -> Persecution -> Peace When we do that, we can see the progression of life of the faithful Remnant saint during the end time. He starts a sinner. He is washed clean by penance. He fights the battle against the World (Communism). He fights the battle within the Church (False Prophets). He perseveres to the end and sees the Period of Peace.
I too was initially brought to “mankind has decided for death “ line. But, As I reread and prayed upon message, I came more to focus on: “Testify joyfully of your faith and do not lose hope in the change of the human heart” I pray and hope that this means there is still time to change what we appear as a world to be racing towards.
