Thank God for Our Blessed Lady who has promised us that The Triumph of her Immaculate Heart is coming and that everything will work out wonderfully well in the end with the Church and the World wonderfully restored and renewed in Christ. At the moment we are physically with Mary in the Book of the Apocalypse when she flees with the child Jesus into the Wilderness or when the Holy Family fled to Egypt. I find it best at the moment to turn my eyes in prayer to God and simply rest there. I have been watching these very devout country people in Church These last few weeks. They seem so happy and content and easy going. I wonder if they have any idea at all of the great evil that has fallen on the World and the Church and the even greater evils to come? Maybe, maybe not. But they do the very best thing they can by trying to carry on leading good Catholic lives and doing terrible very best they can for their families.
Actually, theirs is probably the best attitude. We who take time to keep abreast of the news are susceptible to discouragement. The country folk who only have a cursory knowledge of recent developments are probably much more peaceful. May the Two Hearts continue to cover such country folk with their protective umbrella of Peace!
The only thing is if a bad priest or Bishop preaches poison in their ears how will they know? Jesus said be innocent as a dove and wily as a serpent. I think the serpent bit implies keeping both eyes open, rather than closed. Although I suppose it will take a little while yet until the poison from above trickles down to them. But it will, it will.
