Prayers for all affected by the huge wild fires in Nevada in the USA. I know how terrible these things can be. Thank God it is raining very heavily here. May it rain like and Irish Monsoon in Nevada.
No power for two weeks. I can't imagine. But I really, really admire the courage and can do attitude of people going through this. I went into a mad panic when my power went out until I understood it is a passing thing. But two weeks!
The governor of our state is furious with the electric company for taking so long. This particular company is very shady and not well organized. There are linemen and tree trimmers from other states sitting for hours in parking lots just waiting for job tickets for dispatch. Very poor communication. But things you don’t hear on main stream media, the worst hit area,Gary, is a crime ridden hole of a town south of Chicago. It’s so bad you avoid it in traveling, and go way around that section. One out of state line crew went in looking for wire down and someone shot at the truck and three bullets were lodged. Thank God no lineman was hit! So now every truck has to be escorted by a police car! So that makes the job take longer of course. Sadly, among the crime pockets are poor and elderly caught up in all this drama. It’s now being called racism because most of the people in Gary are black. Such a mess. As a side note, you remember the musical “Music Man”? The story centered on the town of Gary, Indiana. One of the main songs. But in reality, Gary is the opposite of the song! I was crushed when I found out, because I wanted to visit the town. I was told, No way, don’t go near there you won’t come out alive!
Its all part of the breakdown and suffering. As more and more systems fail in the face of this extreme weather we are going to see huge civil unrest i fear.
It is true some areas of parts of the World appear to be more under the control of Satan than others. Haiti is an example. Parts of Mexico under the Drug Cartels is another.
