I get this sense that the world is on the edge, that things are going to topple; that there is a domino that is going to set into motion a whole series of unstoppable events that will occur one after the other; that has a momentum that no man can stop. The world is like a building with unsure foundations; I sense that even the very earth is groaning with the weight of the sin of this generation. We are on the cusp of something really big but I can't define it or imagine it - a trigger event to use an historical phrase. Is it the first secret of Medjugorje? [& I am not sure that the first secret is necessarily the 'warning']. My ten year old son said something out of the blue yesterday just before we prayed a decade of the Rosary for world peace, 'Dad, will there be a nuclear war'? Garabandal
Garabandal, it was with Mario's post of Yellowstone that I finally started to understand the magnitude of what was in front of us. Living on the West Coast of the US I'd just been honed to believe it was an earth quake around the San Andreas fault that would upset the balance of life here. I'd never considered the wide spread damage an eruption in Yellowstone could produce. The ramifications are enormous, like ripples on a pond. A while back Padraig was talking about heaven and learning what we had yet to learn and that we will be saying "I never knew, I never knew". I think that applies here as well. We at this time don't have a clue, all we know for certain is that something catastrophic is approaching. And we all know the best weapon. Lee
Well, I hasten to say I am no theologian or Scriptural Scholar just and amateur who enjoys studying these things and enjoys praying. But to throw in my own two bits worth. My touch stone in Scripture for the times we have just entered the Tribulation comes from a passage that always sets my hair a little on end: Matthew 24:21 because at that time there will be great suffering, the kind that has not happened from the beginning of the world until now and certainly will never happen again. Now I believe no one reading this can't come away with a feeling of the absolute enormity of what is dawning on us. The way I look at it is this: look at all the familiar thing around you and everything you see will seem like a dream in years to come, TV electricity from a central source, stable huge Government, mass transportation...the events coming are so huge that we shall think , looking back on these years it was all a fairy tale and our childrens children will think so even more it will begin to seem like Atlantis so unreal will it be. Now ,again if you look at Scripture what you see is the Spirtual War in the Heavens reflected on the Earth. So Sodom and Gomorah were destroyed by seismic acitivity, at the death of Christ the earth moved and the sky darkened and at the Birth of Christ a star was seen and so on.. In modern times we see this also at Marian Apparition sites were the sun moves, such as Fatima. So from the Earth to the Heavens as Saint Paul tells us: Romans 8:18-23 What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will give us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, everything on earth was subjected to God's curse. All creation anticipates the day when it will join God's children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Now all times, in a sense from the death of Christ are , in some sense eschatological in the sense we all await with all Creation the Second Coming. But, as Pope Benedict reminded us lately THESE are not the end times and I think its very,very important to distinguish between the End Times and the Tribulation they are not the same ,as Jesus Himself points out in Matthew. This being so the eschatoligal sing posts, the great signs, mostly, do not point to this era as such. As far as the North American continent is concerned I have always prayerfully believed that the central part of the Chastisement there would be physical actions such as storms, earth quakes and such like, also I think for Asia too. I have a kind of primitive idea that the devil actually resides in hell in the centre of the world in the great sea of magma. Mow visionaries tell us Satan has been released for a period, so naturally hell is in a ferment as more and more demons are released, so of course we have increased seismic activity. In fact its not just Yellowstone Park but rught across the world, but especially under the sea in South East Asia. My own prayerful believe is that there will be huge quakes and volcanos in the USA but not for a while yet, what eruptions there will be will be, related to what is to follow quite minor. The biggies will come but not till we have entered further into the Tribulation. I also agree with Garabandal that the first Secret of Medugorje is about to be revealed. But all this is my best guesstimate, still I love thinking about these things.
In Oct. at the Medjugorje Peace Conference Mirjana Soldo said even her priest, Fr. Petar Ljubicic had phoned her from Germany asking about the release of the Secrets, she humorously told him "don't worry, you'll be the first to know". Other's are having the same feelings.
The cup is overflowing and time is running short: Second and last message of Garabandal: As my message of October l8th [1965] has not been complied with and has not been made known to the world, I am advising you that this is the last one. Before, the cup was filling up. Now it is flowing over. Many cardinals, many bishops, and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them. Less and less importance is being given to the Eucharist. You should turn the wrath of God away from yourselves by your efforts. If you ask His forgiveness with sincere hearts, He will pardon you. I, your mother, through the intercession of Saint Michael the archangel, ask you to amend your lives. You are now receiving the last warnings. I love you very much and do not want your condemnation. Pray to us with sincerity and we will grant your requests. You should make more sacrifices. Think about the passion of Jesus.
All these events, soon to begin with the Great Warning, simply indicate the birth pains of the Church on earth for the coming of the Kingdom of God on earth.
