From Totus Tuus page: "In the winter of 1428, in Forlì, Italy, a simple hand-colored 15th-century woodblock print of the Madonna and Child was hanging on the wall of a small schoolhouse. On the night of February 4, a devastating fire broke out. The entire building was consumed by flames. But when the smoke cleared, the people of Forlì witnessed something extraordinary: the paper image of Our Lady of Fire remained completely untouched—not burned, not even blackened by smoke. It had survived while everything around it was destroyed. The miraculous woodcut, which had been tacked to the wall and venerated by the schoolchildren and their teacher, was carried in procession to the city’s cathedral. There it became the beloved patroness of Forlì and the center of deep Marian devotion. To this day, the original print is preserved and venerated, and February 4 is celebrated as her feast day with great joy in the city. ------------ This “unburnable” image reminds us that God’s protection can triumph over the most destructive forces. What the flames could not consume, Heaven preserved. Our Lady of Fire continues to watch over Forlì and all who invoke her, especially in times of danger and trial. Our Lady of Fire, pray for us!"
Wonderful. It reminds me of those devastating forest in California. A church burned down but the image of Our Lady was preserved.
