It's remarkable and unfortunate how often people are made saints in such ways. I have heard of people pushing for certain causes to go forward so they can get donations from pilgrims. I am not saying it is always the case, but these things have a way working their way in.
I don't really have an opinion on the Pope. I've had to avoid all the noise for my own sake & to continue being a devout Catholic - of course despite all my sinfulness. I think ppl are allowed to change their mind etc. When I saw you wrote about John Henry Westen, I felt the very same about him. For personal reasons had to unsubscribe from Lifesite News. What I've noticed amongst the world & even amongst our fellow Christians is that it's like evil doesn't exist anymore. Everything is good & Holy. Even as Catholics we've adopted the Protestant attitude of once saved always saved. This isn't directed at anyone & not the Pope either. How much is God really going to pardon? Do we turn a blind eye that ppl do commit evil purposefully, do we turn a blind eye that a lot of ppl are partially possessed esp in the times we're living in?? When someone calls out evil then they become the evil one? As an Aussie I'm asking Cardinal Pell to intervene with all injustices, the man who spoke out against him lied & was a criminal. I don't think ppl are harshly judging, if ppl aren't fighting out against evil, in general they are often a part of it. Some ppl will commit evil for a second, others a lifetime. They have no gun to their head telling them to commit evil. All ones free will... Just generally speaking here. Those fighting out against evil suffer the most like St Anthony, St Stanislaus & Cardinal Pell. Those ppl are beheaded, thrown in jail etc. Am I wrong to say my own mother is a very vengeful woman who is partially possessed & I need to ask for God & Mama Mary's protection against her evil? The more I pray for her conversion the more evil she becomes. I forgive her but was Hitler not evil with the most heinous intentions for mankind? Do I fool myself thinking these ppl are good?
Something that caught my attention during the broadcasts of Pope Francis's funeral here in Brazil was that the journalists covering the event said that the Basilica of Saint Mary Major would become a major site of visitation and pilgrimage in Rome due to the fact that the Pope had been buried there. What came to my mind is that if all those people sincerely prayed for his rest, it would be more fruitful than simply praising him for the works of his pontificate.
Great meeting between President Trump, Vice President Vance, and @Pontifex’s brother, Louis Prevost and his wife Deborah. https://x.com/MargoMartin47/status/1924967179608354875
Sometimes the cross takes us through the crucible so some of the slag can be taken off. It's awful, no one likes it and no one wants it. The worst offenders are often those who we are supposed to have the most confidence in. You have my sympathies and my prayers. The only one who is good is God.
I’m not that worried about Germany. Let them leave. I have this feeling if Pope Leo continues in a traditional path maybe the Orthodox and Roman Churches unite. The Two candles will be lit. Wouldn’t that be amazing, and biblical.
In the homily of the Mass inaugurating his pontificate, he said that he does not want to govern the Church as an "autocrat," which, to me, seems like a nod to the shared governance model of the Orthodox Churches. Even so, it is necessary to find common ground on the Filioque clause in order to come at least close to unification. Interestingly, Pope Leo XIII was the first—or at least one of the first—popes to write an encyclical on the Holy Spirit, thanks to the intercession of Blessed Elena Guerra.
I was curious about how she influenced PLXIII and found this. "Leo XIII granted her a private audience on 18 October 1897 in which he encouraged her work and renamed the community. It was at some stage that she corresponded with Arnold Janssen regarding a "militia of the Holy Spirit" that would be dedicated to working against the Freemasons.[3]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elena_Guerra Also, I guess she was canonized by PFI, so she is a saint.
I am reserving my judgement here but praying at every opportunity for Pope Leo. So far there are very many hopeful signs with him. He really needs our prayers and sacrifices as he is up against the kingdom of evil, the prince of this world. We are all foot soldiers in this battle so utilize the weapons of faith. There is nothing to be gained by second guessing every move of Pope Leo. Live in hope that all will be well. God is in charge and Our Lady is the leader of our army. Souls are at stake.
I keep up with the Catholic news through the following organization. I think they do a podcast now, too, if you prefer to listen, but I haven't tried that yet. https://catholicvote.org/getloop/ They send out daily news letter with news and then some church trivia or info and then they do a weekend edition. Enjoy!
I never really realised how Saintly Cardinal Pell was until I watched an Australian Documentary on his life. One thing I really loved about him was that was such a straight talker. He mentioned going into a Seminary and asking that they start going to Mass everyday and a large portion of them simply refused to do so. He then got rid of the ones who would not do so. This was really eye opening to me that people in a seminary would not go to Mass every day. He also tried to have the rosary every day. They would not do that. He wanted to have adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament , they would not do that. It's not just that he was saintly it was that he was direct and clear and honest and down to Earth. Someone you could entirely relate to and understand. He was tough too, that time in jail could not have been easy.
Yes he took his responsibility seriously. I guess that's what finished him in the Vatican. They could not let him continue. He was too dangerous for the evildoers. He surely is a saint.
People in the Vatican seem to have transferred an enormous sum of money to Australia to have Cardinal Pell taken care off and sent to jail.. That's how wicked they are. Breathtakingly wicked..and these people would have been fellow Cardinals.
Reread Windswept House and Vatican by Malachi Martin. A good reminder of the wickedness and evil machinations that were going on and are going on.
Perhaps it is good that we can still be surprised how wicked people can be. It is a sign we still retain a certain innocence.
I generally like the Trump Presidency, especially now that he has responded to the rise of Israel genocidal stance against the people of Gaza. In the above Trump obviously invited the Prevost couple to come in for a photo opportunity. One thing you can say about President Trump is that he knows how to relate to his base!

No doubt cardinal Pell done up like a kipper but also no doubt that he also was implicated in more than a few scandals especially appointing priests and recommending bishops.
