There is a story on Spirit Daily saying that Pedro Regis’ apparitions have been rejected by his Archbishop.

Daniel O’Connor addresses the reasons for his rejection.

    They are laughable/outlandish/astounding.

According to these criteria we should reject not only Pedro but every manifestation from Heaven in the last 2,000 years!!!

In May, another outlandish ecclesial letter was published, this time by Pedro Regis’ Bishop, Zanoni Castro. The Bishop denigrated today’s seers — a word he always puts within quotation marks — because their messages do not speak enough in support of synodality and against racism. Within the letter against Regis, he wrote:

Since when did these become the criteria of discernment? No sound-thinking Catholic could think that such standards as these are legitimate. Yet what has indeed happened here is instructive, for the cloven hoof has been revealed, and discerning souls will not fail to note what it forebodes.

Archbishop Castro was not merely giving informal remarks. His statements above, rather, constitute an official decree that is still posted on the top of the Diocesan website, over two months later. And within this decree he plainly reveals, for all to see, that the modus operandi of hierarchical discernment today is not seeking God’s Will, but rather seeking theologically “nuanced” ways of ensuring our will shall be done instead of the Father’s. In the “Synodal” Church, we (read: powerful clerics) make the rules, not God.

Daniel goes into a more detailed analysis in the video below, which is rather long.

The Mother of God is obviously wrong and must be corrected because in her messages there is no mention of synodality, open borders and climate change.

The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops.” – Approved apparitions of Our Lady of Akita

It is rather strange. While I'm inclined to agree with the Bishop's opinion that many alleged visionaries (some of them not fully approved although not condemned) rely on generic advice, the Bishop seems to think that it's ok to condemn apparitions on the basis of what they didn't say rather than what was actually said. So, an apparition can only be approved if it contains a message promoting the reigning Bishop pet project? That sounds to me like encouragement for enterprising "seers" to have visions of the Blessed mother riding on the back of a whale while prophesying great graces for tree huggers and vegans.

I don't know anything about Pedro Regis. If he's legit and Heaven wants his messages known, Heaven is more than capable of arranging it. Meanwhile, it's the Bishop's call whether Catholics can consider it worthy of belief, and the Bishop says no. That's enough for me because I'm not a Bishop.

I remember Father Blount once saying that because we didn't use the bible as Catholics, other denominations were gifted with it. It is very apparent to me that Protestants know the bible far better than Catholics on average. As well, many of the best Catholics are those who converted from Protestantism. It seems to me that the very same thing is happening with prophets. Now that there is a stranglehold on what God can and cannot say/do from the Magesterium, it just means that God will find another means. We saw this with the recent attempted assassination prophecy from Brandon Biggs, a non-denominational Christian.

While we do have the fullness of the faith in the Catholic church, we don't act like it as a whole.

  7. I don't listen to prophecy from non denominational Churches. I am a cradle Catholic and I know the Bible pretty well....all the Bible versus in the world aren't going to help you if u don't live it.

I have to object to this line of reasoning. God has always worked through His Church, no matter how corrupt its members become, and He will sort it all out in time.

And you can memorize the entire Bible and still not truly understand what it says, which is what happens when you ignore the Church's true interpretation of the Bible. The Church has the authority on the Bible, not individuals. If individual Catholics don't know enough of the Bible, that's their fault, not the Church's. God will continue to work through His Church that He instituted to be the dispenser of His graces and teacher of His Truths to men.

Yes, but there is something special about most Protestants knowing so much more about the Bible than Catholics.

I just struggle with how they can know so much about the Bible but miss the Eucharist being Jesus' Body and Blood, the importance of Mary as the new Eve and Ark of the Covenant, faith AND works being necessary, etc.

We have to be cautious about Briggs. We don’t really know for sure who is giving him messages. But it was amazing that he was able to predict the assassination attempt on Trump, especially how the bullet grazed his ear.

You know I don’t struggle at all. I struggle more with Catholics who know about the Eucharist and still turn their backs on God. To me that is so much more agonizing. Especially when you educate your kids in Catholic schools, and they come out not caring at all.

Satan does not know the future, he is cut off from God in that way. Also, suggesting Brandon is anything but a faithful servant of the Lord is something I wouldn't do. I watched his testimony regarding his child who has been autistic for close to twenty years, and the struggles regarding that, and how he kept his faith through it all. It is impressive.

I am sorry if I touched a nerve with the people here, but I stand by what I said, where while we have the fullness of the faith we generally don't act like it. The recent changes to the approval of messages to me is clear evidence of a church going it's own way. I also know that something like 70-90% of Catholics don't believe in transubstantiation. The Church is in a really really bad way right now. Like extremely bad. So when there are dedicated Christians who are studying their Bible and are in Love with God, it doesn't surprise me that God speaks through them. Also, I have never heard a single judgmental word from Brandon towards any denomination.

I know what you mean. There has been a real failure in proper Catholic education in the last several decades, but I do think it's slowly turning around!

I homeschool my kids and we use pre-Vatican II religion books. They are very thorough and my kids know the Bible with its true meaning very well.

I hope that as the Catholic Church is reformed with all these young, holy priests over the next few decades, Protestants will be drawn to its Truth like moths to a flame.

God can speak to whomever he pleases. We Catholics are subject to Church authority, and God wonlt by-pass His Churvh. Here's a video where Jimmy Akin discusses Brandon Biggs. Jimmy doesn't rate him as an authentic prophet. Neither do I and I'm amazed at Jimmy spending 2.5 hours nattering about something that could have been covered in ten minutes. Jimmy and his host were more charitable than I would have been. Does youtube pay more if people watch longer videos?

You mentioned on another thread that Brandon Briggs prophesied the decline in value of commercial real estate. If that made someone a prophet, Gerald Celente would be the most reliable albeit the most foul mothed prophet on the planet because he's been making the same prediction since the covid lockdowns.

Grace is far more important than knowledge, and the only way we can be sure of receiving sanctifying grace is through the Sacraments. Why would God reveal the future to someone outside the Church without leading them to the Sacraments? That makes no sense to me.

REALLY reading the Bible often leads you to the early Church Fathers and often that leads to conversion. Look at Scot Hahn and there are others (I think Jimmy Aiken too?) I grew up Catholic I heard the Bible regularly and had a very faith filled mother and father. But it wasn’t till I was older and confronted by another’s opposing faith that I began to really study and learn. After the relationship was over I still fell away from the church. It took a grace from God and especially His Mother to lead me back.

I remember one time long ago saying to my mom. If the world wants violence, blood, intrigue etc why doesn’t someone make a movie of the crucifixion- can’t get much worse than that. Behold a few years later out came Mel Gibson with Passion of the Christ. We live in such a media driven world, wish more movies were made of the Bible with good solid Catholic teaching I would think that would inspire people to read the Bible and learn about the Faith. I have a small library of Catholic movies but they are all from days gone by :(

So Brandon predicts an event perfectly, which he says God gave him, and Jimmy akin takes 2.5 hours to try and discredit him. Mike Winger also made a 2.5 hour video to discredit Brandon. This is called pilpul and jealousy IMO. When you have evidence right in front of your face but you do everything you can to deny it. Like how Jews discredit Jesus as the Messiah to this very day, even though scripture is absolutely clear about it. Also Brandon simply states what he is shown, he doesn't make a living on real estate.

And yes, as Catholics we do follow Church Authority, however now "prophets of doom" are silenced by the Magisterium. Jesus Himself wouldn't make the grade according to the new guidelines. Amazing how right after the new guidelines came out a prophecy of this caliber happened with a non-denominational Christian. Any modern prophets who say anything contrary to the guidelines are silenced, so if God does say something contrary to the guidelines He is silenced. I wont be surprised in the least if we see more accurate prophecies of this caliber coming outside the Catholic Church.

    Luke 19:37-40
When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

    Luke 4:24-30
“Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown. I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian.”

All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.
