The office of the Papacy endures and matures in spite of how any particular Pope falls short of the mark. Unfortunately, Pope Francis reigns at a time when pagan technology amplifies his warts and his intentional peddling of degradation of dogma. Lord have Mercy!
Judging must be one of the most misunderstood phrases in the Catholic dictionary. No one has the right to judge a soul only God. But one can analyse and evaluate words and actions in light of the Gospel indeed our blessed Lord told us to judge a tree by it's fruits. He also warned about wolves in sheeps clothing and referred to the Pharisees as white washed sepulchres because they were spiritually barren. Here I am making a general point and not referring to the Pope in particular.
to be fair, there is a GOOD thing about him. all his time as a bishop he went in the buenos aires subway, as opposed to having a chauffeur like other bishops. this was before the new and nice chinese subway trains, the old ones were rather terrible
Specifically, this bizarre episode: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...arousal-coprophilia-coprophagia-a7461331.html
honestly I dont think francis is a bad pope but I just dislike how he addresses local (argentina country) issues . Im biased , specially because I live in the most politically heated province (more political intrigue and sabotage)
This article is replete with his contradictions. And how can he be right and the Church before him be wrong on the matter of capital punishment? What of his allowing unrepentant adulterers receive the Eucharist? Does he transcend "Go and sin no more"? What of Pachamama?
has he (francis) touched the topic of life-sentence in solitary isolation? anyone who says "living "like this for decades until you die is more merciful than getting executed within 2,3 years of sentencing, you are either cynical or confused . or just have wrong priorities
The ultimate justice is meeting God at judgement. It could be argued that capital punishment gives the greater chance for the salvation of the soul since it focuses the mind of the inmate to confront the reality of the next life and an opportunity for repentance and meeting a minister to be reconciled with God. On the other hand solitary confinement is a living hell.
I think solitary only makes sense if the inmate will be killed by every other inmate (such as a serial killer who targeted women, etc) but even so that guy should be executed soon and just let the issue be over with. And even if we want to go the revenge route, most family of victims actually want the offender to be executed ( he suffers more in solitary but humans just want to see blood, sometimes )
WOW! That prison cell smacks of the lap of luxury when you see the sort of conditions in may prisons in Asia and that part of the world.
This Pope is different from the previous ones, but not worse. The only one who resembles him is John XXIII. Pope John XXIII was highly criticized in his time by the most conservative, as Pope Francis is now.
