    Here’s what Father Rodrigue said:

    https://www.countdowntothekingdom.c...tribulation-and-the-church-entering-the-tomb/

“An ecumenical Mass will be introduced in the Church. It will be formulated by different religious heads, first, in a committee. As a final step, it will be proposed to Rome, to the pope. A document by Pope Francis, Magnum Principium, went into effect on October 1 of 2017, which gave authority to national bishops’ conferences to include new terms or prayers in the rite of the Mass for their countries. Many countries are now caught up in sins of matrimony and have already deviated from the path of the Lord. If synods of bishops in these countries have the authority to make an altered rite of the Mass, you can be sure they will bring something wrong to the pope. If the pope doesn’t sign their proposals, which means rejecting what he has already given them the power to do, what will happen? Schism, which is one of the things that we will soon see in the Church.

Rome will just sign the paper because they will feel that all the authority has been given to the bishops to make those changes in their own country. This doesn’t mean it will be the pope who accepts the document.

You will be able to discern that the Mass is ecumenical because the words of the consecration will not be the same. You are not to attend these so-called “Masses.” You would be better off eating a soda cracker because the bread will still be bread. It will not be consecrated. This will be the first sign from the temple. The Church is now entering into the tomb, and it will pass through the same steps of Jesus, Himself. We are not better than the Master; we are only His followers.

The Antichrist is in the hierarchy of the church right now, and he has always wanted to sit in the Chair of Peter. Pope Francis will be like Peter, the apostle. He will realize his errors and try to gather the Church back under the authority of Christ, but he will not be able to do so. He will be martyred. Pope emeritus, Benedict XVI, who still wears his papal ring, will step in to convene a council, attempting to save the Church. I saw him, weak and frail, held up on either side by two Swiss guards, fleeing Rome with devastation all around. He went into hiding, but then was found. I saw his martyrdom.”

I don’t understand how Pope Benedict has any role, except if he still somehow has authority. I don’t see how a new mass can be signed without the pope’s signature. So one way of interpreting this is that a new mass will have pope Francis’s authority, but no papal authority to back it.

that is how I interpret it. He does not necessarily claim that Francis is a good pope. But even is he isn’t, he can be a Catholic.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

  3. So....

Just listened to a Orthodox Catholic priest analyzing the Pope's comments. He maintains that we must interpret the Pope's comments in the most charitable way....which is completely true and consistent with The Church's teaching.

He says the Pope has to be refering situations (not in the USA) where for example someone looses his inharitance from his parents because he entered into a homosexual union and is thrown out of his family, or a situation where a homosexual is denied visiting his dying "partner" in the hospital because only a spouse is allowed to visit. Or a case where a "civil union" is non sexual, more of a "union " that involves friends.

Apparently some countries have laws protecting "civil unions" between siblings that are caring for each other. The laws are to allow the siblings to share medical coverage for example.

If this is the case then the Pope's comments need to be clarified.

Even if this is the case consideration of scandal has to also be part of the conversation.

I will refrain from posting my own opinion.

    I will wait and pray.

Since its formation the SSPX has been accused of being reactionary conservative, disobedient and even schismatic. Now it becomes ever clearer what was in Abp LeFebvres heart when he founded the society. His stated aim was to protect the priesthood and loyalty to the papacy. Was there ever a time when the need was greater for stoutly traditional truly Catholic priests who know the catechism fully?

Like Padraig I have tended to avoid thinking overmuch about the current HF. A Catholic friend wrote: "I'm sitting this one out". I've tended to do much the same.

Again we have a spectacle of confusion around the Pope's remarks with people spinning the 'compassion' line and others, like most here, concerned about the deeper implications: did the Pope really mean to condone same-sex sexual relations , and if not, will he clarify? If the past is anything to go by, we will be waiting a long time for any clarification.

The Petrine office, one would think, would be the one role in which the incumbent should feel responsible for his words and the need for clarity. The Pope doesn't have to be the greatest living theologian, but he should be aware of how his words will be analysed and what inferences will be made.

From the off the cuff airplane press conferences until now, we have been living with ambiguity and confusion.

Dr Marshall believes that all this confusion is deliberate in order to force the orthodox (represented by the cardinals who submitted the dubia) to sidle off and create an alternative church. If anyone in the liberal camp really thinks this they are deluding themselves. True Catholics stay in the Barque of Peter because, as Peter himself said, there is nowhere else to go. Our faith doesn't rest on what a Pope says at the back of an aeroplane or anywhere else, it is rooted in Christ alone.

You know I don't think the Good Lord will ever punish us for humbling ourselves by being loyal and obedient to a Roman Pontiff. No matter how useless and rotten he is.
