Agree, it is a betrayal. It is already such a heavy cross for the chaste, and now this. How many of these poor souls will be confused due to this document and be led into temptation? It’s just so sad.
You are very, very charitable indeed to Papa Frankie. I asked my Canadian Traditional Pastor after Mass what he thought the Frankie might pull next and we both stared at each other in horror as it is certainly something to wonder about. I suggested that if the next Pope were a Canuck we might be saved. We both laughed at the idea. Here is a great take on Papa Frankie's shenanigans.
there are intense local rumours the Pope wont visit Argentina (which he had planned to do) because he dislikes the new president.
Even MSM is sensing 2024 as the year when disasters strike. I know they do not think of it in any spiritual sense but still interesting and a bit alarming they write about it. I don’t look forward to it not because of any fear for myself but for my children and grandchildren. To see them suffer will be quite hard. But more important I am praying and I know I need to be more direct/forceful to get them to be spiritually prepared. I’m so grateful that our youngest went to confession for first tine in long time on Christmas Eve. Now to convince the rest and push them to Mass. prayers. https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/26/world/2023-year-of-the-brink-intl-cmd/index.html https://www.zerohedge.com/political/cbs-news-reporter-makes-dark-prediction-black-swan-event-2024
I think everyone in his home country disliked him. They had to ship him out to Germany at one stage to give them all a rest They say even his parents wouldn't talk to him from a very young age
No, I'm trying to make sense of him. Fr. Goring is charitable. I think we are in danger of conflating the Pope's appalling management style and what appear to be some nasty personality traits with his core beliefs. He clearly harbours prejudices against Catholics who cling fast to the Faith as handed down to us, as well as politically conservative Americans. The prejudices probably stem from his experience in Argentina. There was nothing wrong with his Christmas day message. His fans probably do him more harm than good -making out that his almost every utterance comes directly from the Holy Spirit. If he is guilty of cooking up this promotion of adultery and sodomy prior to being Pope and in direct disobedience to two reigning Popes, how can that be guidance from the Holy Spirit? Isn't it more likely that he's Pope by God's permissive will? I don't know but we owe him obedience and the benefit of the doubt. There are probably some good Bishops in Canada. Wherever the next Pope comes from, let's hope he's a good one. I can't imagine anything worse than an African version of Cardinal Marx. I wonder does it ever occur to our Bishops the effect their disunity in faith has on the world. The dispute about the natures of Christ preceded the fall of Jerusalem to the Muslims. The Pope at the time waffled and was lenient to heretics. The drafting and release of this document introducing new blessings to accommodate the practice of sodomy seems to have coincided with the latest outbreak of trouble in Palestine. Wasn't the only Catholic church in Gaza struck and the two Catholic women murdered around the time the document was released? Do you think that there could be a message being sent to our hierarchy to shape up? St. Sophronius probably helped save the Church of the Holy Sepulchre from being converted to a mosque. I watched the Christmas Midnight Mass from Bethlehem. Mass was in Latin but the homily was in English. The homily was good. Let's hope that the current Patriarch of Jerusalem is as saintly as Sophronius or the future of the church of the Nativity in Bethlehem could be in jeopardy.
A piece of African wisdom (and anger). I doubt that Francis would dare 'do a Strickland' on an African bishop but we shall see. He calls this declaration out for what it is. Hunt and Scandal, Bishop Martin Anwel Mtumbuka rejecting Fiducia Supplicans (youtube.com)
I cant say is 100% true since its anecdotes and hear-say but: People say he is a different person since being Pope. as a bishop he renounced personal chauffeur and drove the subway (an heroic deed , the pre-renovation subway was awful) , had no secretary, etc. Basically eschewed luxuries and refused to be more than others. but now he's Pope he is ...different. still, this is just hear say and anecdotes I gathered from different people who knew him. (some people say he handed over seminarians to the military dictatorship but that's mere slander. 100% he didnt do it)
I don't believe that. He was elected by a majority of the College of Cardinals after giving a talk about poverty. The majority of Cardinals then or now are not Freemasons. Some people believe that he was selected as a candidate by people who were unhappy with the papacy of John Paul 11 but that doesn't invalidate his election. I wouldn't blame him for disliking the new President - a man who calls himself Catholic, opposes Church teaching on sexual morality and makes decisions based on advice from his dead dog that he receives via a spiritualist. He says he is anti-abortion but that could change depending on the advice from the dead dog. We should be wary of people who engage in that kind of mud slinging.
I always took Papa Frankie to be a very highly intelligent and remarkable gifted administrator. No ones fool or dupe. A person of very high will and drive, a virtual one man dynamo. An extremely shrewd and political individual and superb communicator. Curiously for a Jesuit by his own admission as a Jesuit of all things he admits to being theologically illiterate. Also very curiously he seems unread on Scripture , the lives of the saints or in spirituality. Almost as if in a way the Catholic Faith was Foreign to him, as though he had joined us from some other planet. As well as this he strikes me as emotionally truncated I would guess in terms of emotional maturity I would guess he is at about 18 years old or the age of a college freshman. Also he seems to have a curious taste in literature and I would guess has not read deeply or much and when he does so does so without depth. Like a teenager he is very notional in the ideas and causes he clings to. He strikes me as intensely narcissistic and with a self deluded messianic complex. In short we are basically dealing with a very, very immature teenager who has never grown up with a very, very high opinion of himself and someone who is not so much immoral as totally ammoral. Someone who to be frank does not appear to have or ever had any kind of functioning conscience. He would be an extremely unpleasant to have any dealings with as would dealing with any out of control teenager. I could, go on and on...but that's enough for now.
This reminds again of a story Fr. Coropi told, pardon me if you've heard it before. Fr. Coropi was in a car with a bishop and Mother Teresa and the bishop was going on and on about all he was doing and all his programs while Mother Teresa and another nun with her were just praying the rosary. Finally the bishop said, Why Mother Teresa, I'm so busy I don't have time to pray. Mother Teresa just looked right at him and said, Bishop, if you're too busy to pray, you're too busy. Sadly too many of the clergy do not pray. If they were praying the rosary and being guided by Our Blessed Mother who destroys all heresies you wouldn't see them spouting such heresies.
This may not be popular, but this is why I am still able to have some compassion for him as a human being. It has been said by a well known priest/exorcist/psychologist that someone who was abused as a child basically does not mature spiritually, emotionally or mentally beyond the age that the abuse took place. For example, a 40 year old standing there in front of you may have the maturity level of a 10 year old. imho, that "abuse" doesn't necessarily mean physical abuse. That he has problems is a given......That he is Pope is a problem, because whatever it is that's afflicting him is now afflicting the entire Church. I don't know what the answer is, but it's rather obvious he is a very troubled man.....And some knew and tried to warn others, but considering even heavenly warnings have been ignored over the past many decades, maybe it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that those warnings from his own confreres were also ignored. I don't say this in defence of his actions or doings. Just offering a possible explanation for why he is the way he is.....Ignoring it or going along with him doesn't seem to be a good idea, given the office he holds. 2024 may well be the year when it will be good to remember this: "The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the Name of the Lord".
If this has been previously posted, I apologize. But I shed a tear now and then over its clarity and forthrightness! O MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN, PRAY FOR US WHO HAVE RECOURSE TO THEE!
"You were not baptized in the name of a pope, but in the name of the Holy Trinity. You will not be judged by Pope Francis, but by Jesus Christ." If only they were all as clear as this good shepherd.....
