The Catholic Church is ready to accept a date that everyone wants" Pope calls on Christians to agree on a common date for Easter Vatikanstadt - Due to different calendars, the churches of the East and West do not usually celebrate Easter on the same day. This year, for once, things are different. Pope Francis has now once again called for the exception to become the rule. Published on 26.01.2025 at 08:45 – Pope Francis has once again called on the various Christian churches to find a common date for Easter. According to the Pope, all Christians should "understand the fact that the date of Easter in 2025 happens to be on the same day in the churches of the West and the East as an invitation to take a decisive step towards unity with regard to a common date for Easter". Deviating from the original speech manuscript, he added: "The Catholic Church is ready to accept a date that everyone wants - a date of unity." Francis made his remarks at an ecumenical service at the end of the 58th Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in the Roman Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls on Saturday evening. Clergy and believers from other Christian churches also took part. In his address, the Pope recalled the anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, which met 1,700 years ago. The creed formulated at that time is still the common foundation of the Christian churches today, emphasised Francis. It is "a common confession of faith that transcends all the divisions that have wounded the body of Christ over the centuries." The Pope called on Christians of all denominations: "Let us rediscover the common roots of faith, let us preserve unity!" The 1,700th anniversary of Nicaea is not just a historical reminder, but an obligation for Christians today. (KNA) https://english.katholisch.de/artik...ristians-to-agree-on-a-common-date-for-easter
Response to Pope Francis’ statement on a unified date for Easter Published by Aurelian Iftimiu 28.01.2025 Following a recent statement by Pope Francis regarding the establishment of a common date for the celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord, we wish to clarify that any consultation on the date of Easter and a possible decision can only take place within the framework of a future Pan-Orthodox Council, with the participation of all sister Orthodox Churches. This initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts on this matter, taking into account the significant recommendation of the Synaxis of the Primates and Representatives of the Orthodox Churches, convened from January 21-28, 2016, at the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Center in Chambésy. During this meeting, it was emphasized: “Regarding the issue of the Calendar, it is appropriate for each Church to freely implement what it considers beneficial for the spiritual formation of its faithful, but without altering the common date of the celebration of Easter by all Orthodox.” Therefore, any initiative concerning the date of Easter can only be addressed within the context of a Pan-Orthodox Council. Now that Pope Francis has concluded the Synod on Synodality, having previously announced that he will not write a post-synodal exhortation, it becomes somewhat difficult to define synodality. Could a synod of sister churches, standing on equal footing in decision-making power, fall within this concept?
Since one of the main themes of the True Life in God messages is the Unity of the Christian Churches, a call for conversion and reconciliation, where “the real Unity is and will be in the hearts”. “May they be all one, just as, Father, you are in me and I am in you, so that the world may believe it was you that sent me” (Jn 17: 21), I thought I'd share one of their latest witness videos: "TLIG Children's Choir - Testimonies - Summer 2024" Powerful prayers from Jesus. Poor man, he looks so unwell! Offering up the rosary for him now. It is a terrible thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God and Judgement. Goodness he looks really, really awful.
When he was unable to read the text of the homily and was applauded afterward, I was reminded of that dramatic episode with John Paul II on Easter in 2005, which moved even those who had distanced themselves from the Church. Of course, the current situation is far less serious.
What's terrible about falling into the hands of God at the end of life? It's a beautiful thing, not awful by any means!
In his case awful. Horrific. ..are you kidding me? This guy made Judas look good. Where you paying any kind of attention at all? What are you even thinking? Even the most Evil Popes in History (and there were quite a few) don't even get a look in with this totally, depraved, corrupt, wicked, Satanic , individual. I honestly believe in all of human history I have never encountered worse. Kind Herod. No. The Emperor Nero. No. Stalin. No. Hitler. No. Luther . No. He best them all heads down. For me, for the purest wickedness and down lowness he gets the crown. Really? You didn't even notice? Where have you been? The harm he has done Our Holy Mother the Church is totally incalcuable. Every single day he appeared to sit on the Throne of Peter he did as much harm as he could. He never let up for a single moment. Every single second he was in Rome was a second of evil and pure wickedness. I suspect with his evil energy he never even slept at night. I am no fan. My only surprise was that God never struck him dead. But I suppose, looking back on it, we never deserved that mercy.
Even so. The Good Lord always called me to pray for the most wicked. So I am particularly fond of Papa Frankie. Praying for his poor totally, totally wicked soul. I am really, interested in his death bed scenes. I am sure Lucifer will turn up in person to drag him away. They will be really quite something I am sure. If they don't keep it all hidden.
Well I do too. In a way I respect him for being all in for evil . He never really pretended. I respect this. He was working pretty well way out in the open for Satan every single moment he appeared to be Pope. He was a heavy hitter for hell. No if's or but's. I respect this. He never ever pretended to be what he was, a High Servant of Satan unlike most Bishops and Cardinals who never had his own basic honesty. I can't imagine anything more wonderful than to save such a persons soul, so I've being praying for him for many, many years. It looks impossible that his soul might be saved but this causes me to pray all the more.
I find it hard to read his words or look at his picture. I have no kind words to say for him ..but I know God will use our prayers for a greater good.
