Poor, poor man. The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. I pray that he is beginning to feel such fear and that it will bring in its tail a little tiny bit of the wisdom which has always been so very singularly lacking in his regard. Every time I say the rosary I pray for that poor, poor guy..and I say the rosary very, very often. But it is a very, very uphill struggle. I have prayed for Satanists I had more hope of Salvation for. A really , really, really, really hard case. May the Good Lord have mercy on his poor benighted soul.
The photo released today is the second proof of life after that barely comprehensible audio published on March 6. What scares me is that the news about the seemingly endless synod being pushed to 2028 suggests he is not willing to back down. By the way, the Holy See's finances are in shambles, and this might have something to do with the excessive number of these synodal meetings. I just hope this doesn't make it easier for it to be co-opted into a "Catholic Spring, Part 2." https://www.reuters.com/world/pope-...ruggle-before-he-was-hospitalized-2025-02-27/
It does not matter what these very, very wicked and evil people plan. God is in charge. We are promised that Mary will break the back of Satan and so she will. A new generation of Spiritual Leaders is about to come. Born of the most humble origins. Of the heart, rather than the head. A Great surprise is in store. God will pluck the new leadership of the Church as He did the First Apostles, from very humble ordinary working folk. Lets be quite frank and honest about it. Our present leadership was leading us all straight to hell. They were pretend Catholics. At best they were cowards. At worst they hated the Church they pretended to serve.
I wasn't judging him. To judge is to decide his final destiny for all eternity, something so stupendously important that only God is qualified for the job. Like any Catholic with a basic knowledge of our religion, I know many of the things Pope Francis has done and that he needs to repent of them. I hope he does. I'd prefer to take the gamble of a new conclave. I believe in miracles.
You're right. I shouldn't have implied that you are judging his soul. I'm sorry for that. I'm one of those who prayed for a Pope like Francis way back in 2013 - someone less austere and more understanding. I soon learned to be careful what I wished for. Overall, I'm less inclined now to have such an unfavourable opinion of him. Maybe I'm wrong again. All I know is that we get the leaders we deserve. I sympathise with the rest of you but must admit that Pope Francis isn't nearly as bad as the Pope I deserved then and now. The Pope's devotion to the Blessed Mother seems genuine to me and that's a huge point in his favour. Maybe he sees things that we aren't aware of and takes what he believes to be the best course of action at that time. Maybe over tine we will see and understand better what he was trying to do. A conclave now when the world is on the brink of major upheavals could be the last thing we need. I would be afraid of a rushed Conclave with Cardinals letting their own biases influence their choice, or maybe settling for Cardinal Fernandez simply because he's nearly there already. I'd rather a Conclave later when the Cardinals have a clearer view of how the world is shaping up, hopefully helping them get a better perspective on who is best suited to guide the Church through whatever lies ahead. Choose in haste, repent at leisure could lead to the worst possible outcome. Bit I could be wrong about that too. My batting average is pathetic. I apologise again for any offence to you and others on this thread.
No need for an apology. Your viewpoint is perfectly legitimate and even necessary. It keeps people like me in balance. Your point regarding hasty choices is probably the right view. Terrible times we find ourselves in.
A very odd picture.. lifeless almost.. Yet again giving orders for more and more changes for 2028. It feels like a picture was taken to shut people up.. I truly wonder what the expression on his face was...continued prayers.
agree that it’s an off photo. I recall how Pope St. John Paul II never hid his Parkinson’s - he exuded joy in his suffering and became a great sign of hope.
We can't tell if he is conscious...or even alive. How do we know he is the one giving orders, much as those behind Biden exploited him?
I hope this report is accurate. It will be a good sign his health has improved. It will be good to hear if he can speak. In those times of trial, our words csn be very revealing. I’m looking forward to what the Pope will say and teach in his moment of suffering. I continue to pray for him. https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/...reet-crowd-at-gemelli-on-sunday-march-23.html
The Pope will be discharged exactly 20 years and 10 days after John Paul II's last return to the Vatican in 2005. While the dates of their hospitalizations nearly coincided within a span of 20 years, the similarity was only broken by a difference of 10 days: John Paul II on February 24, 2005, and Francis on February 14, 2025.
