My brother, Tim (born on the Feast of St. Timothy & Titus) is close to death and I'll be visiting him for what will probably be the last time tomorrow. He is experiencing kidney failure. He suffers from advanced dementia and has not recognized me for well over a year. Tim was a talented composer and vocalist in a band which played in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. He had a marvelous sense of humor, a real crowd-pleaser. He ended up watering down his Catholic upbringing with New Age strands. He has two sons and is, unfortunately, estranged from his wife, Mary Ann. He and I are less than a year apart: he was born in January, 1953 and I followed about one year later. I simply pray that Our Lady open a pathway to his heart for Jesus to speak. I am left with the question, "What more could I have done, Lord?" Death has a way of challenging us. St. Patrick and Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for Tim!
Sorry to hear this, Mario. I will pray for Tim, and for a little miracle that Jesus will allow him to recognize you. It's so hard to see your loved ones slip away. Both my parents are in their 90's, and my beautiful mother is struggling with dementia, every day is a gift.
Prayers for you and Tim. It’s hard to let go of a sibling, but our merciful Jesus loves his precious soul even more than you do. With you praying at his bedside, Tim is twice blessed.
I pray I will be able to put a brown scapular with an attached miraculous medal around his neck and see if a priestly chaplain is available. Please pray that this simple, humble gesture will be honored by our Lord!
I will pray for him tonight also I believe the Seraphic Mass association says Gregorian Masses, I do believe there is a requested donation but not sure of the amount
Praying for Tim and all his family, including you and your family. You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty yourself out upon us. Oh Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Sacred Heart of Jesus as a font of Mercy for us, I trust in You.
A follow-up: Tim has rallied a bit. When I visited today he was not fully conscious or aware, but when I was praying a Rosary for him he gripped my free hand- though his eyes were closed and he said nothing. His younger son Connor and his wife were there but they took a couple hours break when I filled in. Not only has his separated wife, Mary Ann visited, but other friends as well. It was good to re-connect with Connor: he is very warmhearted. We had had a falling out previously but that breach has been mended. Connor and his girlfriend have married and now are blessed with a boy and girl! Lord have Mercy!
