I would be surprised if he gets in. If he does in spite of the many court cases against him and the bankrupting judgements that have been issued against him then I will have to think it is the hand of God. I know that we are constantly being deceived with smoke and mirror psy ops but this hatred of Trump--visceral hatred-- is not manufactured. The average leftist is scared to death of him. I still don't know what I will do if he is the candidate. How I will vote. Or if I will vote. I am praying about it.
Put your trust not in princes, as the saying goes. Nevertheless, the Biden administration, whoever it consists of, seems to me the greater of two evils.
The divide in America, expressed in the love him/hate him view of Trump, is a lightning rod revealing the disintegration of the Republic. We witness it in the current Administration's assault against the Catholic Church through the FBI and Justice Department. We see it in the outlandish fines leveled against the former President. We see it in the weaponized version of the FACE Act in an attempt to exult abortion and take down the Pro-life Movement. We may cheer the truckers refusing to deliver goods to New York City, but even that is a symptom of things gone awry. It creates a longing for a "Strong Man" solution who will supply stability for a moment. As Caesar arose to replace the Roman Republic with an Empire, so the current worldwide turmoil paves the way for the rise of an AntiChrist. Consider the war in Europe, the war in the Middle East, and the war within the Church. The great disintegration is taking place and JoeJerk will use all such unraveling to advance his unholy plan. Trump is not the AntiChrist, but America's love/hate relationship with him is a foretaste of the worldwide dissolution which is the social element of the Chastisement. We need to spend more time on our knees than on the internet; more time praying than analyzing.
You are so right. I’ve been so nervous with the economy lately that I’ve pushed prayer aside. The Warning may very well come this year, and why even worry about politics? Our Church is in trouble. That’s more important.
At the risk of repeating myself, remember, all you who can vote: the candidates may be flawed, but whoever wins gets to fill the next Supreme Court vacancies. A Democrat will try to change the balance, and before we know it, Roe is back. Presidents have a four year term, Supreme Court justices have the rest of their lives to influence life and morals. Please take the long view.
I will be watching very carefully who Trump picks as his running mate. You know, politics being politics . . .the VP can replace the Pres. If Trump was not solidly in our corner the VP could be. And that could be the 'Trump Card' for picking up votes from the opposing party. How many politicians have said , oh I changed my mind after they got into office. Just a thought . . .
Thanks for posting this Jason, well worth watching if anyone has the time. John Henry Westen did a wonderful job highlighting both the best and the worst of Donald Trump. I will pray for his conversion. I believe his heart was hardened after he lost the last election, and he will say what he needs to say to survive politically. It is a very bitter pill for us to swallow. I pray that the hand of God is still upon him, and his wife, Melania. I sat out the super Tuesday voting in Massachusetts, I could not bring myself to go to the polls. That night I began to think about the thousands of Catholic voters in the US, and of the consequences should the majority of conservative, pro-life Catholics decide to sit out the 2024 election. I will be praying over this until November.
