I am still reading a chapter of the Bible each day by the Verbum App. Such a joy.

The Prophets and false Prophets and how they got on really springs out.

Things change but things remain the same. So much is exactly the same today as it was way back then .

In the first place there was way, way, way more false Prophets than true ones .

The false Prophets tended to forecast good things and thus their Prophecies were welcomed

The true, Prophets were always, always persecuted, very often killed, beaten, imprisoned slandered and ignored

The true Prophets never wanted the job .

It was the very people who should have accepted them most rejected them the most, namely the civil and religious authorities.

When on occasion they were accepted great and wonderful things happened .

 

For the false Prophets it was exactly the other way around. They were praised and flattered and rewarded .
They caused immense harm and it seems clear that they often seemed to be under direct demonic influence

Nothings changed, has it?
