What do I say when someone says love is love and all that matters if is two people love each other. How do I explain same sex marriage is not right? Cause if love is love than incest would become apart of the lgbt right? If two consenting adults love each other so How do I anwser that? God bless
sponsa, The key is to go back to Genesis 1 and 2. Humankind originates from God. We are the only creatures created in His image, male and female God created us, just 2 sexes. Genesis 1: 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth." And notice we are to be nurtured in the context of God's plan for family: from one generation to the next; openness to children as God desires, one generation to the next. Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh. So the Church's moral teachings that pertain to sexuality come from the above. Did not Jesus Himself use these verses to clarify God's wisdom rejecting divorce? They are the foundation to also rebuke contraception, same-sex marriage, and transgenderism. I've always loved Ravi Zacharias and his manner of expressing his thoughts. Even though, he was not a Catholic I considered him my brother in Christ. May he rest in peace. Pay close attention to the entire video, but particularly at what he says at the 6:00 minute mark, he far explains it better than I ever could.
Sadly Sponsa I think that most people these days wont recognize sound teaching if it runs them over. The Holy Spirit may well open their ears and soften their hearts but if not then dont waste too much time on them. Kick the dust from your feet and move on.
