https://www.reuters.com/article/britain-treasury-hezbollah-idUSKBN1ZG1DT UK expands Hezbollah asset freeze, targets entire movement 2 Min Read LONDON (Reuters) - Britain expanded the scope of its asset-freezing measures against Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah on Thursday to cover the entire organization as well as its military wing. The finance ministry move follows Britain’s decision last year to classify the whole group a terrorist organization due to its destabilizing influence in the Middle East. The heavily armed Shi’ite group was established in 1982 by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. It is widely seen as the most powerful player in Lebanon and is part of an Iranian-led regional alliance in conflict with U.S.-allied Gulf Arab states. Gilad Erdan, minister of public security and strategic affairs for Hezbollah’s foe Israel, said he welcomed the measure, adding that Europe was waking up to the threat from proxies of Iran. There was no immediate reaction from Hezbollah, which does not acknowledge separate units. Last year, it said Britain’s decision to list it as terrorist showed London’s “servile obedience” to Washington which gives it the same classification. Inside Britain, Hezbollah has been a topic of political controversy. The opposition Labour Party has questioned whether the government’s decision to censure Hezbollah outright was based on new evidence, or political opportunism. Outgoing Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has been criticized by opponents for once calling the group friends. Reporting by Sarah Young and Andy Bruce; Editing by Andrew Cawthorne
Back on the 10th I posted something about the War of Psalm 83 starting before April. (http://motheofgod.com/threads/signs.7937/page-428#post-268257) Today I got a fund-raising email from Magen David Adom (the Israeli branch of the International Red Cross) saying this: Jordan Prepares For War With Israel Jordan signed a peace agreement with Israel in 1994. Although Jordan has honored this accord for 25 years, in late November the Jordanian army conducted a series of military maneuvers that simulated a war with Israel. The operation was called “Swords of Karameh,” and was conducted under the supervision of Jordan’s King Abdullah II. In 1968 the Battle of Karameh was fought by Jordan against Israel… According to Jordanian media reports, large numbers of ground and air vehicles were involved in the maneuvers that focused on destroying the “vanguard of the enemy” as well as destroying the bridges that can be used as crossing points into Jordanian territory by “the occupying entity across the river.” Immediately the Israel Defense Forces began to prepare for a possible attack by Jordan. If this occurs, Israel will undoubtably face a multi-front war. Hezbollah, with its arsenal of 150,000 rockets from the north. Hamas and Palestinian Jihad from the south. Syria from the north east. And now, Jordan may join the attack from the east. Iran would likely engage directly as well… You may want to review my original post ...
Thank you for this post, I missed your original one and I agree that this is a significant sign and well worth paying attention to.
For those following these events: Harry and Meghan drop royal duties and HRH titles Prince Harry and Meghan will no longer use their HRH titles and will not receive public funds for royal duties, Buckingham Palace has announced. The couple will also no longer formally represent The Queen. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex intend to repay £2.4m of taxpayer money for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their UK family home, the statement added. The new arrangement comes into effect in spring this year, the palace said. The statement comes after senior royals held talks on Monday about the future role for the couple, who this month announced they wanted to "step back" as senior royals. I am waiting sometime soon, for the announcement of the day our Pope goes to Moscow! Then when her returns, the 'rumors of war' will come to an end and biblical proportional war will come. Short but extremely deadly!
Fireball blazes over Puerto Rico as locals fear 'end times' after earthquakes The blazing celestial phenomenon was spotted in Puerto Rico who thought the blaring ball of light was a 'bad omen' and 'something catastrophic' A blazing meteor-like fireball has been spotted hurtling through the sky in Puerto Rico after a series of powerful earthquakes. The unusual celestial phenomenon has been branded a sign of the "end of times" by locals on the Caribbean island. Citizens of the US territory have been jolted by a series of powerful earthquakes since the beginning of 2020, and assumed the blaring light ball was "something catastrophic". The island has been recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Maria since 2017, a deadly natural disaster that destroyed the territory and killed 3,057 people. Frightened Puerto Ricans who witnessed the phenomenon took to social media to share photos and video of the fireball. One Twitter user said: "Just saw a huge meteor or fireball about a mile into the ocean over Rincón, Puerto Rico. "It was ridiculously bright and was pretty amazing and crazy." While a second feared: “Wow if it hit it could be catastrophic, this is just going to get worse, we are at the end of times, Jesus Christ is about to blow the trumpet.” And a third added: "Australia burns, Indonesia floods, earthquake in Canada, Puerto Rico & Mexico, Iran proclaims death for USA, the koala is proclaimed almost extinct, a fireball falls to the ocean, and an electric storm in Rio. "We’re only 7 days into 2020 and I am truly worried." National Weather Service satellites captured the blast over Puerto Rico at around 4.30PM EST. Shortly after it appeared, eyewitnesses said the fireball disintegrated into thin air over the island. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/world-news/fireball-blazes-over-puerto-rico-21305900
Now how you miss a really, really, really, really large warehouse....esp. when you're desperate?? And they want to blame Trump? Wow – Puerto Rico Governor Fires Emergency Response Director After Massive Warehouse of Unused Aid Discovered… Folks, this is alarming. An explosive video from Puerto Rico shows a massive warehouse of emergency hurricane relief supplies discovered highlighting emergency supplies delivered in the aftermath of hurricane Maria that were never distributed. The warehouse was discovered after the recent earthquake, and the building suffering damage. After CTH initially saw the report, I had to go find the raw video to see just how much 2017 aid was being hidden in this warehouse; and the full video is simply stunning. First, the report: (VIA CBS) Puerto Rico Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced fired the island’s emergency management director on Saturday, after a video showing aid sitting unused in a warehouse went viral on social media. Some of the aid has allegedly been sitting in the warehouse since Hurricane Maria struck in 2017. “There are thousands of people who have made sacrifices to help those in the south, and it is unforgivable that resources were kept in the warehouse,” Vázquez said in a statement. Garced said in a statement that she has ordered Secretary of State Elmer Roman to conduct a “thorough investigation into the mishandling of emergency aid in a warehouse in Ponce,” CBS News correspondent David Begnaud reports. “I have given 48 hours for this investigation. The investigation is to include this warehouse and any others which may exist,” her statement read. “In the same vein, I have decided to relieve Carlos Acevedo of his duties as the commissioner of the National Emergency Management and Disaster Relief Agency.” Vázquez said she would nominate the current Puerto Rican National Guard chief for Senate consideration to replace Acevedo. (read more) Many CTH readers know I am a CERT response leader for Hurricane relief; and in that capacity I have a pretty good idea of logistics, costs, and the scale of moving supplies into impact zones. After initially reading the report on twitter, and seeing a portion of the video, I went in search of the raw video to see the size and scale of this ‘warehouse’. Here’s the longer video: What has been found here is a massive storage facility. I would estimate the size of the warehouse around 200,000 sq ft (minimum) based on video and exterior truck bays. The video shows thousands of pallets, double and triple stacked, of key and essential emergency supplies. Bottled water, shelf-stable food, diapers, baby formula, blankets, tarps, tents, propane grills, propane, emergency lights, batteries, flashlights, emergency radios, potable water cans and much, much more. To give you an idea of the scale, there’s at least 100 semi truck loads of supplies in this video, in this single warehouse. Logistically each trailer would haul 22/24 single stack pallets, or 66/72 triple stack. With more than a dozen staged pallet jacks, this warehouse is holding serious money. It is unfathomable these supplies were not distributed; and worse yet were likely being re-sold on the black market. These emergency supplies and materials were delivered in 2017. On December 28th, 2019, a magnitude 4.7 earthquake hit Puerto Rico and President Trump authorized an additional $8.2 billion in aid….
I'm not even going to try to figure out jut how much money in water bottles there are. It would be nice if someone could put together a quick-n-dirty set of subtitles for the video. I did get curious at all the boxes labeled "Midland ER310". The ER310 is a highly-rated emergency radio/light/crank generator that retail for $60 each ($70 retail). Each of those boxes held 4 of these radios, and I didn't get to count about how many boxes there were. Yes, to lose a whole warehouse filled with supplies? Mismanagement at best. Some of those pallets (especially the baby diapers) had clearly been opened and items removed. And Trump was criticized because he was holding up aid to PR because of fears of corruption.
I wonder how much of that found its way to places like ebay. Clearly someone knew about it. Let's hope some of it at least went to people in need before it was lost.
Madness. I predict once the news of this hits a national media provider all of this will be one big misunderstanding. https://www.twincities.com/2020/01/18/cottage-grove-church-united-methodist-young-parishioners/ Cottage Grove church to usher out gray-haired members in effort to attract more young parishioners By Bob Shaw | bshaw@pioneerpress.com | Pioneer Press January 18, 2020 at 9:12 pm A prayer for survival rose from the back of the church last Sunday. “I pray for this church, getting through this age-discrimination thing,” said William Gackstetter, as the gray-haired heads around him nodded in agreement. Gackstetter and other members of the Grove United Methodist Church in Cottage Grove are upset enough that their church is closing in June. What makes it worse is that their church is reopening in November — pretty much without them. The church wants to attract more young families. The present members, most of them over 60 years old, will be invited to worship somewhere else. A memo recommends that they stay away for two years, then consult the pastor about reapplying. Officials say the church needs a reset, and reopening the church is the best way to appeal to younger people. But the older church members say they see that as an insult. “This is totally wrong,” said Gackstetter’s wife, Cheryl. “They are discriminating against us because of our age.” After the plan was explained by a visiting pastor on Jan. 5, she said, “I called him a hypocrite. I said, ‘You are kicking us out of our church.’ ” FOUNDED 30 YEARS AGO Thirty years ago, the Peaceful Grove Church was founded by pastor Jim Baker in an elementary school. It moved into its own building, then merged with a larger church in Woodbury in 2008. Today, the churches are the Woodbury and Cottage Grove branches of the Grove United Methodist Church. The Cottage Grove church struggled with membership and finances. Seven years ago, Methodist officials said they could no longer pay for a minister for the church. That’s when the Cottage Grove church switched to lay ministry, with weekly sermons by members of the church. “This created a lot of independence. We kept it going,” said church founder Baker. That’s why the members are so fiercely loyal, he said. Recently, the church’s attendance and finances have stabilized, with an average of 25 people worshiping weekly. But stabilizing isn’t good enough. Cottage Grove is growing quickly and the church should be growing, said the Rev. Dan Wetterstrom, head of the two-location Grove church. “We have not figured out how to reach new people there,” he said. Cottage Grove is underserved by churches, he said. The benchmark is one church for every 1,000 residents, so 37,000-population Cottage Grove might be expected to have 37 churches. In fact, it has only 13. In a memo summarizing a Dec. 12 meeting, Wetterstrom said the church could soon die, saying, “… unless something changes, we are nearing the end.” The answer is a new appeal to younger families. “Jesus said we are called to reach new people,” said Wetterstrom. He said that Methodists’ regional Annual Conference is paying $250,000 to restart the church. They have hired a specialist in starting new churches — Jeremy Peters. Peters, 30, has moved to Cottage Grove with his wife and two children. He is working with community groups, laying the groundwork for the relaunch, probably in November. “It’s a new thing with a new mission for a new target,” said Peters, “and a new culture.” The older members will not be physically barred from attending, said Peters. But the expectation is that they will not. “We are asking them to let this happen,” said Wetterstrom. “For this to be truly new, we can’t have the core group of 30 people. “The members of the church have other options. They can come to Woodbury during this phase.” How long should they stay away? Wetterstrom’s timetable for the transition explains: “15-18 months after weekly worship is launched at Cottage Grove campus — those members of the current campus who are interested in migrating back … connect with (Peters) about how to best make that transition.” Church leadership has suggested the present-day members could be welcome if they supported the youthful new identity of the church. “If they are on board with that, they are welcome to attend and engage,” said Peters. But not all of those members feel welcome. “The past few weeks have seen confusion, anxiety and anger,” said member Ron Purcell, as he opened the Jan. 12 service. The 35 people in the pews listened, their faces grim. The service continued with a 6-year-old recorded sermon, and a puppet show by church founder Baker. SILENT PARTNERS Afterward, William Gackstetter said the aging membership has been asked to continue maintaining the church until it reopens without them. “They want us to mow the lawn and shovel the snow,” he said. “As if anyone would do that. This whole plan makes me sick. I believe it’s evil.” Cheryl Gackstetter added: “We are supposed to be silent partners, and still give money.” She admitted that the membership was not exactly youthful. “We are mostly 60 and up,” she said. They don’t want to go where they are not wanted, she said. “They want to create renewal,” said church founder Baker. “I am all for renewal, but why not do it with everyone? It doesn’t make a lot of sense.” He questioned the wisdom of trying to reopen the church in the same building and with the same name, with the pews full of vibrant young families. ‘THIS CHURCH IS VERY KIND TO US’ In other words, people like the Knapps. Stella and Jon Knapp of Cottage Grove were the only members with children at the service, and they say they hate the plan. “If it happened, I wouldn’t come here any more,” said Stella, 34. As six-year members, the couple loves the church, and do not see how any Methodist miracle can draw in more people like them. But did it bother them to be the youngest members at the Sunday service? “Not at all,” said Jon, 34. “This church is very kind to us and our children.”
Researchers Pay Mexican Women to Get Pregnant Then Abort Researchers have conducted experiments on dozens of young Mexican women, paying them to be artificially inseminated and then extracting their embryos for analysis, NPR reported Thursday. https://www.breitbart.com/health/20...pay-mexican-women-to-get-pregnant-then-abort/ I for one am getting tired of the evil in our world!
While reading my mind had so many sarcastic quips but I couldn't post them. It's just really sad that churches have become commodities and not places of worship where everyone can partake. Sigh !
The protestant churches have been into selling their product for a long time. Marketing strategies. Commodification. Big box churches or mega churches if you will , do this. But as many devout protestants will tell you there is no sense of the spiritual. Just a lot of theatrics. Its all$$$
What I can't figure out, is how they believe that expelling the undesirables, all those who "just aren't our kind of people", is going to encourage great flocks of young families to enroll (?) in that church? Well, they're Methodists, so now they have to decide if the church is going to be Traditional Methodist or LGTBQ-friendly Methodist. Probably the latter, which is why they have to expel all these old folks who will make trouble. It's why I like being Catholic. Yes, you can do some parish shopping, but usually you just go to the parish where you physically reside.
The rally in Richmond VA today has an awesome turnout, I'd estimate 10's of thousands from some of the aerial shots. Unsurprisingly the only MSM outlets to cover it live are Russian news sites and alternative media. God bless all those people standing for all those who can not stand themselves. https://www.pscp.tv/w/1rmxPXyqyBXxN?q=virginia+rally
