Jovenel Moïse: Haitian President Assassinated in Attack on Home | National Review

Opposition figures said Moïse should have stepped down on February 7 of this year to complete a five-year term, and after Moïse refused to leave office thousands of Hatians protested in the streets. The government responded by arresting 23 people, including a senior judge and police official, who Moïse accused of conspiring to assassinate him.

Haiti's president shot and killed in home, his wife sustained injuries but is in the hospital.

Though of course, this is bad news, reading the articles, it seems he was not allowing free elections or a transition of power.

Haiti Pres. Jovenel Moïse assassinated by gunmen at his home | World News | The Christian Post

The article notes, so the Bishops called for him to step down:

Haiti’s Pres. Jovenel Moïse assassinated months after bishops urged him to step down

Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated Wednesday, and his wife was injured months after religious leaders called on him to step down as the country faces what some describe as a “descent into hell” amid rising political tensions and violence. He was 53.

Interim Premier Claude Joseph told The Associated Press that Moïse was assassinated in an attack on his private residence early Wednesday, which he described as a “hateful, inhumane and barbaric act.”

The late president’s wife, first lady Martine Moïse, was also shot and is currently hospitalized
    .
    So, agreed, this is bad.

Graphic article from Live Action. So, if offensive pictures disturb you, best to avoid but like Lila Rose, I think this subject is too important.

WATCH: Images of abortion victims 'provide undeniable evidence' of abortion violence (liveaction.org)

I hate to say it and I know she has expenses, especially out in California where it is expensive in many places to live but her salary is probably too high. I will think twice before giving them a donation.

I never would have known. And I'm sorry to learn this.

Students for Life, I got on their mailing list, well, the head of the organization is well paid too. She, Home | Kristan Hawkins , has had editorials printed on the fox news website, maybe she's been on that network.

Students for Life of America - MinistryWatch.com (briinstitute.com)

Here is a list of these charities, I assume mainly for the USA:

    Ministry search - MinistryWatch.com (briinstitute.com)

Maybe giving locally is better.... I can not imagine them having such exorbitant salaries and I can imagine.

It gives me second thoughts. There is also a website called "Charity Navigator" I think that rates charities.

On the other hand, some of these charities do very well in being stewards of money, can't argue with that.

Edit on: Here is the Charity Navigator for Live Action, I am not seeing the CEO salary mentioned. But these websites are helpful to judge a charity with; Charity Navigator - Rating for Live Action

And then again, I have to consider, they are doing hard work, they are effective voices, maybe they deserve it.

Lila Rose built her organization from the ground up, she founded it.

On Not Being Thrown to the Lions
    David Carlin

    FRIDAY, JULY 9, 2021

Afew weeks ago my wife and I spent an afternoon with some old friends, a retired couple who had just come back from their winter home in Florida. The wife of this couple told us a story from her childhood that reminded me of the glory days of American Catholicism.

She grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, not far from Fall River. She went to a Catholic school in the 1950s. The nuns told their students about the Church’s early martyrs, saintly Christians who, rather than renounce their faith, consented to being killed by hungry lions in the Flavian Amphitheater. These martyrs immediately went to Heaven, where they met Jesus and commenced to enjoy eternal bliss. The blood of martyrs is the seed of the Church.

This was in the 1950s, at the height of the Cold War. And so the nuns, not content with giving edifying history lessons, reminded their charges that the need for Christian heroism had not vanished with the conversion of Rome to Christianity. The nuns gave their pupils a thought-provoking hypothetical. Let’s suppose the Communists take over America, and let’s further suppose they confront you and other Catholic school-kids with the horrible option: “Renounce your faith or be shot dead.”

Brave and Holy, yes but in Mississippi, it may not be that risky to say such. I fully respect him however and I don't want that to detract from his actions. It's not like doing that in New York City though, everywhere at least imho, have right-thinking people just like everywhere has probably some wrong-thinking types of persons.

There is more to this story. The President of Haiti was vocal and determined to have a new constitution for the country. When the government tried to hold elections there was so much unrest in the streets that it was impossible. So he began pushing for a new constitution because he believed that the one they have now was essentially written by US politicians for control over Haiti's government and people.
A few other interesting things of note about this president. He would not allow China access to Haiti's ports or sign agreements with them for zero interest loans which they were trying to use as leverage to gain that access like they did in Venezuela. He was a staunch and vocal supporter of Taiwan's independence from China.
Haiti also has zero vaccinated citizens in a population of 11 million yet it has not seen the waves of covid nor the huge lock downs or mandates of masks and social distancing.

Hi AED. Thanks. My brother was deployed to Haiti back in 94 and his stories from his time deployed there have led me to not trust the US corp media regarding what goes on there. I expect that there will soon be a parade of paramilitary types captured or killed who were intentionally left to hang by whoever was behind the plot to decapitate the president and install his replacement.

This is an interesting article about a small group of Catholics who were there for charity efforts.

And Haiti seems to be a place where they think the Clinton Foundation shortchanged the nation. That's a bit gossipy but it may have some truth.

I heard (but cannot confirm) that several of the women who were in the spa at the time of the incident stated they would permanently "fix" the problem if he ever came back there again.

The L.A. Times has taken the side of the exhibitionist.

While its editorial did (TEPIDLY) acknowledge that while some patrons might feel uncomfortable, ultimately they should get over it because "feelings."

I had a nice mental image of a woman snapping out of the initial shock to deliver a strong swift kick...and the exhibitionist crumpling onto the floor in agony. :)
