They will face much more opposition to any lockdowns next time - many people have woken up to their scheming. The globalists made a great mistake with covid pushing people into lockdowns and mandatory vaccines -- they moved too fast too early. They have created a ton of new anti-vaxxers including myself - I will never take another vaccine in my life. Because I don't trust them and many people feel the same way. So the resistance has grown and will grow further.
It displays a total inability to think through the course of history. Apart from the reality that the human race has never been further from 'peace', with the threat of Armageddon currently acutely hanging over us like a Sword of Damocles, it is the scientific class in whom he places his trust who were the ones who provided us with the opportunity to fully exploit fossil fuels and who were the one supposedly with the gift of knowledge, but who did not know these side-effects of the things they were glorified for inventing. It is a perversion of justice to lay the blame collectively on older generations, the vast majority of whom had no hand, act nor part in these acts of progress, and who had little or no opportunity to benefit from them. Entrusting scientists to solve the alleged issue of climate change is like asking pyromaniacs to take charge of your fire department. Perhaps Pope Francis will take his own advice and we will hear less theology from aeroplanes. Unlikely, as all this advice is only for the little people. Dives can party on. It is also not simply a reversion of the human race to poverty if we abandon fossil fuels. We have recently exceeded 8 billion souls in the world. These not only could not survive without fossil fuels, nothing like this number could have come into being without them. Without fossil fuels, only a fraction of this number will be viable and not just in some long term. Once fossil fuels begin to be curtailed, billions will begin to starve. Maybe our present population is unsustainable. If so, events will unfold in their own way and we will pay for what will be shown to be mistakes, but ones made in good faith. However, it is demonic to take actions that will precipitate a catastrophe that we are not by any means certain will happen.
