Brant Pitre also explains the Old and New Testament correlations extremely well. I have read a few of his books and he has a youtube account. He may be more easy to watch for you. I enjoy him very much.

As with all things, I believe God will use this in ways we will not expect. I believe very strongly that as the Church does become smaller, there will be a great movement of sensuum fidelis. I believe the people of God… the faithful…will lead. And I think the great new saints those canonized and those not yet to be canonized will lead the way. Look at the phenomenon are Carlo Accutis. I was reading a bit on this and the words of Pope Benedict XVI are spot on ( I believe he is very much guiding the Church spiritually right now):

Pope Benedict XVI said: "Faith both in the Immaculate Conception and in the bodily Assumption of the Virgin was already present in the People of God, while theology had not yet found the key to interpreting it in the totality of the doctrine of the faith. The People of God therefore precede theologians and this is all thanks to that supernatural sensus fidei, namely, that capacity infused by the Holy Spirit that qualifies us to embrace the reality of the faith with humility of heart and mind. In this sense, the People of God is the 'teacher that goes first' and must then be more deeply examined and intellectually accepted by theology."[20] In each case, the dogma was defined "not so much because of proofs in scripture or ancient tradition, but due to a profound sensus fidelium and the Magisterium."[21]

I have nothing against the Vatican tightening the rules for various apparitions and revelations.

In the end, Jesus himself said that the time will come when there will be many false prophets who will mislead many...

We live in a time of technology where news travels very fast with a great growth of atheism. False apparitions and revelations can only harm believers and mislead those who are not strong enough in faith. In the end, a person does not need miracles, apparitions to have firm faith, and there are always many of those. Even in the great shrines there are relatively few physical miracles compared to the millions of pilgrims each year. Spiritual conversion and faith are important, and this can be achieved anywhere, because if a person searches for God with his heart, then he will find God...
In the end it is God's grace that enables us to find Him, nothing is up to us...

I think that in the history of the Catholic Church, since the Vatican itself, about 8 or 9 apparitions of Our Lady and Jesus have been recognized, which are very few numbers in over 2000 years.

We should not forget that regardless of its difficult moments throughout history, and there were much more difficult periods than today, the Catholic Church always had wise people who knew how to correctly assess the state of the times and adapt their actions accordingly. Apparitions and miracles were always viewed with caution, because patience is a virtue that teaches us that we should be able to recognize the moment when we need to act.

After all, when God decides to perform a miracle and wants it to be recognized, he certainly does not need human science or the Vatican to confirm it. By itself, it violates the laws of nature and passes into the supernatural that everyone can recognize.

Yes the church does need to authenticate apparitions and miracles so that they may be worthy of belief.

Bishop Jose da Silva declared the miracle of the sun "worthy of belief on 13 October 1930, permitting "officially the cult of Our Lady of Fatima" within the Catholic Church.

Countries Fail to Agree on Treaty to Prepare the World for the Next Pandemic
Negotiators plan to ask for more time. Among the sticking points are equitable access to vaccines and financing to set up surveillance systems.

    By Apoorva Mandavilli

    May 24, 2024
Countries around the globe have failed to reach consensus on the terms of a treaty that would unify the world in a strategy against the inevitable next pandemic, trumping the nationalist ethos that emerged during Covid-19.

The deliberations, which were scheduled to be a central item at the weeklong meeting of the World Health Assembly beginning Monday in Geneva, aimed to correct the inequities in access to vaccines and treatments between wealthier nations and poorer ones that became glaringly apparent during the Covid pandemic.

Although much of the urgency around Covid has faded since the treaty negotiations began two years ago, public health experts are still acutely aware of the pandemic potential of emerging pathogens, familiar threats like bird flu and mpox, and once-vanquished diseases like smallpox.

“Those of us in public health recognize that another pandemic really could be around the corner,” said Loyce Pace, an assistant secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services, who oversees the negotiations in her role as the United States liaison to the World Health Organization.

the United States and Britain, it would not enable the W.H.O. to dictate national policies on masking, or use armed troops to enforce lockdowns and vaccine mandates.
Next week’s deadline was self-imposed, and some public health experts have said it was far too ambitious — most treaties take many years — for such a complex endeavor. But negotiators were scrambling to ratify the treaty before elections in the United States and multiple European countries.
Among the biggest bones of contention in the draft treaty is a section called Pathogen Access and Benefits Sharing, under which countries would be required to swiftly share genetic sequences and samples of emerging pathogens. This information is crucial for rapid development of diagnostic tests, vaccines and treatments.

Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which strengthened control of the tobacco industry and decreased smoking rates in participating countries. But they were jolted by the devastation of the Covid pandemic and the inequities it reinforced to embark on a second.

The countries are also working on bolstering the W.H.O.’s International Health Regulations, which were last revised in 2005 and set detailed rules for countries to follow in the event of an outbreak that may breach borders.

In May 2021, an independent review of the global reaction to Covid-19 “found weak links at every point in the chain of preparedness and response.”

more than 90 percent of people in some high-income countries had received two doses of Covid vaccines, compared with less than 2 percent in low-income nations.

I didn't say anywhere that the Church should not point it out, but that it is good for them to tighten the rules...

The Catholic Church has been cautious throughout its history, which is why so few apparitions have received official recognition from the Vatican, although they have received recognition from local bishops. One "mistake" is enough, and evil wants exactly that because it would cause a great scandal and they could put "all" apparitions in the same basket.

That is why the Vatican is wise when it comes to Garanbandal and Medjugorje. If the visionary's messages are really fulfilled, then they will recognize the same as worthy of belief. If not, no scandal will happen because the Vatican has never officially recognized or approved it.

This is the problem, it only becomes "worthy of belief" after the fact. Which defeats the purpose of prophecy. It's like Kibeho, it was approved in 2001 but the genocide happened in 1994. Meanwhile, Our Lady was giving warnings since 1981. Also, if the people repent like in Nineveh, and a chastisement doesn't happen, it doesn't disprove the prophetic warnings.

So the question is, when should we listen to the prophets in the Catholic church? Obviously not after the chastisements occur.

Now there is only the nihil obstat, which means that there is nothing standing in the way of Church teaching. As well, any sort of supernatural phenomena now has to go through the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. So it isn't up to the local Bishop to decide alone anymore. So, when can clergy promote current prophecies/prophets? especially given all the requirements to meet a basic nihil obstat. How long will it take?

I am afraid you make two big assumptions here.

The first very big assumption is that the people at the Vatican are not constantly lying through their teeth and with an evil agenda of their very own.

The second assumption is that in bringing the reins of power exclusively into their own hands so they can silence the truth rather than assist it.

With these new regulations it seems nothing can be declared supernatural. All they can say is that it doesn't contradict church teaching. They are trying to shut down Our Lady.

Possibly yes... as well the word Pope Francis used for homosexuals in Italian was the equivalent of "faggots".

Pope Francis doesn't actually support gay union blessings, but blessings for everyone. So why fiducis supplicans?

[IMG]The December declaration, Fiducia supplicans, prompted the Coptic Orthodox Church to sever ecumenical dialogue with the Catholic Church. Argentine Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, has traveled to Cairo for a meeting with Pope Tawadros II, in hopes of repairing the rift.

I believe an ecumenical policy is underway to restore ties with "more conservative" Christian denominations that turned away from us after the Fiducia Supplicans document. Considering the proximity of the jubilee, it is important to reestablish ties of ecumenism, even if they are not in full communion.

That's how the Vatican has always worked. Slow and detailed so as not to cause scandal among the faithful...

Miracles and apparitions spread among the people when they are authentic because God does not need anyone's approval to show his power and strength... When an apparition worth believing really happens, people flock either for faith, doubt or some who go to mock. However, in those moments it is impossible to prevent crowds.

Our Lady does not ask for the approval of the Vatican for the apparition and the miracle in Fatima shook 80,000 people in an instant, the message spread and the apparition brought about great changes in Portugal, and then it spread to the rest of the world. Recognition followed only later when the message with a miracle had already received results.

It is actually a story about the rich man and the poor man Lazarus. When the rich man asked Abraham to warn his brothers, Abraham told him that if they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced that someone will rise from the dead.
Modern man will find it difficult to believe in apparition messages even if the Vatican approves the same moment because people have lost faith. We even recently cited famous atheists who refused to believe the miracles they witnessed in Lourdes and Fatima. The hardness of the human heart among the masses is a far bigger problem than the approval of the Vatican.

When God really decides to do a miracle or an apparition, there is no regulation or law that can prevent it from going unnoticed or covered up.

We believe that the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ and that the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Church is guided by the Holy Spirit and no evil will make him leave her. That's what we were promised...
However, God in cooperation with man saves. He gives him the opportunity to be a participant in salvation, He gives the coward Peter the keys to heaven and to be the first head of his Church.
God knows from the first day and from his first servant Peter what people are like.
Even today there are those with hard hearts and bad intentions in the Vatican, but there are also others who are led by the Holy Spirit and who are ready to die to testify to their faith. Unfortunately, evil is always louder and noisier and seems to prevail, but the basis of our salvation is faith, including in this decision to approach apparitions more cautiously and that the Holy Spirit really guides the Church.
Neither hell, nor death, nor a stone at the entrance to the grave stopped the truth. It will certainly not be stopped by a few lost sheep in the Vatican, because when God decides to do something, He will make it happen regardless of human regulations.

I understand what you're saying, but God is still in control of everything and no matter how many times things seem to be going in the wrong direction, we still need to trust that He is in control no matter what. The Vatican has had various popes, the situation throughout history was once far more critical. One of them was Pope Urban VIII, who drastically tightened the rules related to miracles and apparitions. On one occasion, St. Joseph of Cupertino, known as the flying saint, ended up with him and not only that, but he flew a few meters in front of the Pope himself in ecstasy into the air. Pope Urban VIII himself said that if he lived long enough, he himself would witness one day on the sanctity of Saint Joseph of Cupertino.

Considering the speed at which the world is going into the abyss, I believe that the next miracle that will be recognized worldwide, no one alive will be able to deny that it is not from God.

I never doubted God or Our Lady, or questioned that the Church will survive. I agree that if our Lord wants a prophecy through our Lady to get out it will happen. The problem is the response of the Church and Church authorities when it comes to prophets. I would suggest that Church dropped the ball when it came to the messages of Fatima. I would also suggest that the church dropped the ball when it came to Kibeho.

The truth of the matter is that God sends prophets in our midst and we are slow to react to them. Between 500k and 800k people died in Rawanda. What makes the Church look worse in the eyes of God. When prophecy is ignored and chastisements come, or when the Church responds accordingly and God sends His graces so chastisements are averted? IMO the church needs to be listening to what prophets have to say currently, not waiting to see if they are true or not after the chastisements come. This is the downfall of our relationship with God through out all of biblical history, we don't listen to God through His prophets.

I would also add that when Jonah prophecied to the people of Nineveh, they listened. However it was the King who decreed a fast, that every person and animal to wear sack cloth and urged the people to prayer. By this example it is clear that the church authorities have a greater role in prophecy than just saying something isn't contrary to faith.

According to Glen Hudson, no Carlos cannot be the martyr contemplated at Garabandal.

I had asked a question on the Garabandal Facebook page and Glenn messaged me directly:

"The Miracle" will coincide with the celebration of a Holy Martyr related to the Eucharist. The Virgin didn't tell Conchita the day of "The Miracle" will be the day of a Saint. The Virgen told Conchita the exact date of "The Miracle" and Conchita located the date in the calendar set in the kitchen of her house. This is how Conchita found out the name of the Holy Martyr related to the Eucharist. Conchita told Father Luna, "is a saint with a very rare name." http://www.virgendegarabandal.com/conferencia_jose_luisENGLISH.htm"

Since Carlo Acutis wasn't on the calendar in the 1960's he cannot be the Martyr of the Eucharist. Also, he wasn't martyred - he died a natural death.
