Sirach 2 7 You who fear the Lord, wait for his mercy; and turn not aside, lest you fall. 8 You who fear the Lord, trust in him, and your reward will not fail; 9 you who fear the Lord, hope for good things, for everlasting joy and mercy. 10 Consider the ancient generations and see: who ever trusted in the Lord and was put to shame? Or who ever persevered in the fear of the Lord[b] and was forsaken? Or who ever called upon him and was overlooked? 11 For the Lord is compassionate and merciful; he forgives sins and saves in time of affliction. I just wanted you to know this doesn't detract from my respect and care for everyone on the Forum.
That's such a nice thing to say.. And so well put. I'm having trouble 'making time' for the more important things in life. I tell myself, "I'll get to it..." But sometimes I put it off so much, I just forget. They say the devil's greatest trick is convincing people that he doesn't exist. However, one could argue that his convincing people - - 'that there is plenty of time', is its equal..
I hope all is well with you Terry. You are on my beads today. It was so very kind and courteous of you to post this.
Just to be a little bit more personal: I'm on a collision course. With all covid restrictions removed opportunities abound for chaplaincy, yet another harsh winter approaches. But I could handle occasional updating classes and then in the spring resume a few days a week in addition to Parish duties. It's a lot, but one does well at what one loves best.
May the winds of the Holy Spirit blow you to safe harbour. I am afraid making long range plans at the minute will be fruitless for anyone.
