I always found the story of the Piped Piper of Hemelin very sad. The piper contracted to remove the rats from the town. He piped them out , the council refused to pay up and with his music the Piper made off with all the towns children. These is the sound of the piper being heard at the minute, the main piper being President Obama ; but, sadly many of the children of the Church are following him away from the Town of the Truth. For instance , he would never have been elected in the first place if a huge number of Catholics had not voted for him. More importantly he would never have been elected if Catholic Bishops and Cardinals had spoken out against him. But the impact seems to be effecting the whole Universal Church with some very big Catholics indeed following the piper. The Editor of the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano , Giovanni Vian talked of Obama's, 'Humble realism', describing abortion as a 'Delicate matter' and described Obama as ,'Not a pro abortion President'. Cardinal Cottier, a former Papal theologian in the magazine 'Thirty Days' praised Obama's 'humble realism' , accepted Obama wants to reduce the number of abortions and talked of the need for common ground and dialogue. He compared abortion to what happened with the doing away with slavery. that we must not try to do away with abortion through, ;Instruments of legal coercion'. That we must ' Be humble and patient. He said Obana has recognised the 'tragic gravity' of the problem. All this is very attractive and there is not doubt there are very,very many Cardinal, Bishops and others agree with these views. Certainly if St John the Baptist ,say had adopted such views he would never have gotten his head cut of. Gentle dialogue, compromise , patience . If Jesus had adopted such a role with the Pharisees and Saducees he would not have ended up on a Cross. If the Early Christians had compromised with the Roman State they would never have died in the arena's. The only problem is this compromise, patience, understanding, whatever...well it is not the Gospel of Christ. Jesus Himself said, "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." (Matthew 10:34-39 NASB) and " 49 I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism* to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! 51 Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; 52 for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father* against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law. (Luke 12:49-53) It sounds like a terrible thing to say, but our Catholic Faith is not about , 'Getting along', 'Dialogue' , 'Compromise' , 'Patience with opponents'. For as far is evil is concerned , evil such as abortion and sexual perversion we must face such things with fire and the sword. The fact is folks, even Cardinals and Bishops who preach and teach compromise with evil, they are not preaching the Gospel of Christ, they are following another tune, that played by another Piper, like the children of Hamelin they are being led away towards the teachings of Hell. THERE CAN BE NO COMPROMISE WITH EVIL. I have been praying and thinking about President Obama. He is so charismatic. Young, brilliant, athletic and with such an attractive tune. dialogue, understanding, unity. A real piped piper. Anyone who would argue against him can only sound intolerant, bigoted, stuck in the past, violent, confrontational..... Yet we have the Gospel of Christ and the natural place of the Christian is to hang on the Cross for telling the truth. If we compromise the Gospel there shall be no compromise we shall avoid the Cross, we shall also avoid heaven. But the very, very worrying thing about this is the huge support Pied Pipers like Obama have in the very highest places in the Church.
Many Catholics have forgotten [never been told] that they are in a spiritual conflict and that the 3 great enemies are the world, the flesh and the devil. Secularism is so embedded in all apects of our culture that it has even entered the church [the smoke of satan]. The loss of the mystical, the supernatural has ruptured the church and weakened it of its mission. Thus, many bishops behave like administrators and politicians rather than pastors of the flock. I think the great apostacy is here already - the empty pews [especially amongst our young people] are testimony to this. Many Catholics in the church have a protestant mentality. A good example of this is the issue of contraception. The majority of Catholics contracept, a small minority use natural methods. Yet the communion lines are still lengthy and the confession lines short. We are in the greatest crisis the Church has ever faced much much worse than the reformation. The loss of faith, the loss of the sense of sin is staggering. And the church is infected by the spirit of the world, the spirit of the times. The smoke of satan has not only entered through some fissure - it is billowing through the front door and all of its windows!! The church is a ship that is taking on huge amounts of water. Apostacy leads to schism. There is a schism already in the hearts of many. The good news!! is that there is a small army of saints instructed by our Lady of Good Counsel. If the church as a whole were to turn to our Lady then things can change. She is the remedy for these end times. She comes to restore the faith, the mystical and the supernatural.
