I hate to continue to be a bother, but please pray for me. I still grapple with the words I said that one night against the Holy Spirit, words I thoroughly regret, and my anxiety about not being forgiven for that, coupled with being too lukewarm, and my failing to break away from a habitual sin I fell into hard yet again (partaking of watching movies online even though by watching them I am in violation of copyright), make me worry. I fear that I might have missed God's last window for mercy and am scared I am too late. Please pray for me, so I can make a good confession and get back to Him.

If you thoroughly regret and have confessed then it is forgiven- period. You sadly may feel lukewarm today, but that has no bearing concerning that sin which no longer exists.

There is no "last window", no "or else" where sincere repentance has been joined with the confessional. Yes, regret over falling back into the same rut is understandable, but to claim you are non-redeemable must be rejected.

Take up the Scripture passages that speak of God's love and memorize them. It would be best to change your user name, also. It is one thing to acknowledge one is prone to weakness, another to name yourself , "AWeakSoul".
Better to call yourself, SonoftheMostHigh, since you are baptized and beloved! Then begin a habit of daily prayer, frequent Holy Mass and Confession to regain equilibrium!

I say this in love, not anger. I am a sinner, too!

I will pray for you. God loves you so much because you acknowledge your weakness and need for Him. Peace

    Prayers today.

The Spiritual life is not really so much about feeling as it is about Faith. If it were about feeling then Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane would have been a total failure. But if it is about Faith then He was victorious as He carried on through the dark.

I woke up yesterday morning feeling to myself that I could not be happier even if I were in heaven things are going so well. But I might wake up tomorrow feeling like the roof has fallen in. But these things are only passing feelings and no indication of where I am really at with God.

Padre Pio was right. Pray, hope and don't worry. Offer up your sufferings and scruples in this matter to the Sacred Heart for the conversion or sinners.

    Prayers.

Mario’s counsel is brilliant, so please consider taking his advice.

We Catholics also have the gift of patron saints for just about everything, including scrupulosity, which I believe you are suffering from.

Saint Alphonsus Liguori (1696 – 1787), the founder of the Redemptorists, whose feast day is August 1st, suffered throughout his life from scrupulosity, writing: “Scrupulosity is one of the most bitter trials souls who love God can undergo, worse than ill-health, persecutions, and similar sufferings.”

Brother Lawrence, a 17th-century Christian mystic, is known for his spiritual insights and his book, "The Practice of the Presence of God." While his writings emphasize a simple, joyful life lived in God's presence, he himself struggled with periods of intense scrupulosity early in his life.

Over time, however, he developed a more balanced and trusting relationship with God, finding peace and joy in the simple act of living in His presence. His writings offer valuable guidance for those struggling with scrupulosity, encouraging them to practice living in the presence of God.

There are other saints who had this awful burden. Find one you feel drawn to, handcuff him to your arm, and tell him you will release him when he helps you conquer this fear! A dear old friend who is approaching the end of her life, confided that she has taken many hostages from heaven to resolve her spiritual maladies. She is a living saint who has taught me much. Her confidence and faith in her prayers being heard and answered, one way or another, is her legacy.

You are never too late. One book I think would be helpful for you to read was written by a non-Catholic, but is definitely mot anti-Catholic; it is Hinds Feet in High Places. It is the novel of a bashful, timid soul named Much Afraid. She tentatively sets forth from the low plains to seek the Shepherd on the mountain heights. It is a great analogy on the theme of seeking the Lord by leaving the lowlands. She must resist the temptation to return to the familiar, but inadequate; instead her search for the Shepherd leads her to the unknown heights where He dwells. It is ultimately the Shepherd who did the leading!

I care for you and am praying!

Ahh, you know I think I distantly remember reading this, but it must have been over 40 years ago! So many memories.

Yes, I read that initially in the late 1980s. I see it is now readily available in a pdf format online!:D:ROFLMAO: Go for it, AWeakSoul!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

This arrived in my in box today,,. As we all struggle in storms of life and likely bigger ones to come, i found this to be good to reflect upon...

The most terrifying detail about Noah's Ark isn't the size of the flood. It is the design of the boat.

If you look closely at the blueprints God gave Noah in Genesis 6, He was extremely specific.

He gave the exact length, width, and height. He specified the type of wood and the pitch to seal it.

In my little years, I have never thought of this, but God intentionally left out one crucial component. There was no steering wheel, no sail, and worse still, there was no engine.

Think about how scary that is.

Noah was building a massive vessel to survive a global storm, but he had zero control over it, or over where it went. He couldn't steer it away from rocks. He couldn't turn it into the waves. He couldn't aim for dry land. He was completely at the mercy of the water.

The Ark was not designed for navigation; just for floating.

Noah’s job was to be the Passenger, not the Captain.

    God was the Captain.

This is a picture of your life right now.

You are trying to put a steering wheel in a boat that God can control, if you let Him…
