The thing politicians and the media aren't airing is; 'where are the residents of these temporary accommodations going to be residing 1, 3, or 5 years time.' Personally, I feel there'll be a campaign pulling on the heartstrings of the public - vilifying those cruel older homeowners for living in 4 and 5 bedroom houses in married couples or as widows or widowers - whilst young families struggle in these temporary accommodations. That'll usher-in the removal of private property rights. Already in Ireland they're moving to instigate this subtly. With a policy amendment which changes 'the right to private property' - to - 'a right to appropriate housing '. This is a very subtle but significant change. Once they take the first property; they'll not stop. And there'll be no concern nor mention of how older people slaved and sacrificed all their lives to be able to purchase and pay for their properties - all bought with long term mortgages, lent by banks at often exhorbitant interest rates. And still, these hardworking people navigated the pitfalls. All presented to foreigners who never lifted a hand for their new country. Our leaders have chaos planned on so many levels.
Yes I see that coming with the squatters taking over homes. Just waiting for them to knock on my door and say they have a paper saying it’s legal. And on another note, for those who have mortgages. When the banks default the govt will demand payoff or you can ‘rent’ from the govt who will become the lien holder. Kind of like a reverse mortgage. I see this coming.

Michigan's governor Gretchen Witmer just announced they will pay homeowners $500 per month for one year to take in immigrant families to live with them. But after the year how do you get them to move out? What if they invite family and friends to move in with them since they are 'paying rent' so to speak. What a can of worms . . .not good.
Fulton Sheen commented that first we possess certain wrong ideas and th en the wrongs ideas possess us. So many wrong ideas these days possessing people, they become like another religion. People do notlive in a vacuum we all need to believe in something to give our lives purpose and meaning. So having dumped God they need to replace it with another Faith, another belief. So much that is happening at the minute reminds me of the misplaced zeal of the early Puritans or Islamists. An intolerance, a bigotry , a rage. Everyone who does not agree with their views in saying Climate Change, LGBTQ or Woke is evil and must be punished. We need a really, really strong prayer life leading to a strong Faith to resist this evil. I think the great evil in the Church at the moment is that our Leaders are not men of strong prayers, of strong Fait and so cannot swim against the strong cultural currents and so are swept along by them.
So many ideas that were just theories a few short years ago are taken as total facts as though Moses had brought them down from Mount Sinai on tablets of stone as though from God Himself. If we reject them we are taken to be mad or bad, there are no in betweens with these hopeless zealots. A mad person will think they are the only sane person in the room. To think for instance that a man can become a woman is insane. But who dare say anything different? Being the only sane person in a room is an deeply uncomfortable experience. How to remain sane yourself?
I believe this to be the " diabolical disorientation" brought about exactly as you said, by dumping God from society. Thank our good God for giving us His loving Mother as a consolation in these times!
You are so blessed in the USA to have your Constition and it's protctions. They are introducing hate speech laws in Ireland and Scotland which will bury free speech six feet under.
I wouldn’t mind to taking in immigrants, as long as they are strong practicing Catholics. My house is a sanctuary of prayer I want it to stay that way.
Presiden t Trump had a new campaign ad launched a few days ago. You can watch it on utube. It is very well worth watching. There are a lot of animation\cartoon pieces of it which give it an eerie mystical kind of feel. It reminds me a lot of Lord of the Rings. But I think the main theme was that we are in a real God to toe confrontation between good and evil for the soul of the USA and the World. I thought it captured the mood of many people in the USA and throughout the World. If you haven't seen it you should watch it.
