They usually argue that Saint Thomas Aquinas was against this dogma in his time, so it is quite difficult to convince them using the Church’s historical sources. Still, the truth is always the truth, and heresy is always heresy, regardless of the circumstances or the light of knowledge we have—especially when the Church solemnly proclaims something that has already been ratified in Heaven before the birth of any dogma. Now, fortunately, at least the Orthodox have long believed in the dogma of the Assumption.
The more I say the Rosary the more I understand it is a Mystical Gate through which the chosen walk. It is a great gift. I believe the Orthodox have not the same graces as ourselves because of the path they walk. It is a wonder that there is no Mystery of the Immaculate Conception in the Rosary.
I really like Dr. Mark Miravalle. His stuff on the fifth Marian dogma and Marian apparitions is superb. He’s always very charitable and kind too. A living saint.
