I checked to see if there was a thread like this but could not see one. As I am a huge believer in Our Lady of Akita and Her image is based on the painting of The Lady of All Nations I thought I would start this thread for those who may be interested. The official De Vrouwe site contains much information. Our Lady is coming into her time and I believe the 5th dogma will be proclaimed soon after the Warning that was foretold at Garabandal.
I know the Trads do not like Amsterdam but don't let them put you off. There are many graces attached.
I have posted something similar to this before but was moved to repeat it again this morning after reading about Mary, the Mediatrix of all graces. The story of DNA is amazing. Just like the Magi found a different way home and were changed forever by seeing God as a Child in a manger, Crick and Watson did not identify the double helix until they saw the structure of the molecule in a different way. Then it all fell into place. Recently I explained to someone that a founding principle of my profession, osteopathy, is 'structure governs function.' Crick and Watson made their discovery about DNA in 1953, the year of my birth. Crick said " if you want to understand function, study structure." When I think of DNA I think of Jesus and how He carried His Mother's genetic blueprint. A fully human egg fertilised directly by the Holy Spirit in some mysterious way. The Desert Fathers referred to The Holy Spirit as the seed of God. The power of the most high overshadowed Her and She was filled with the Holy Spirit and conceived a child. When we recieve the glorified body of Christ in communion we receive him whole and complete. This must include that of Mary, her genetic contribution to the physical humanity of God, Glorified and immortal. Just as the Quakers refer to 'that of God' in each one of us, we not only receive Christ whole and complete but receive 'that of Mary' contained in Christ in Holy Communion: Her DNA glorified in Christ. Just my thoughts but if true and not heretical it is mandate enough for immediate proclamation of the 5th Dogma: by consuming The glorified presence of Jesus in the Eucharist we qualify for eternal life so if my thinking is correct that of Mary in the Eucharist bears witness to her role and status as Co-Redemtrix, Mediatrix and Advocate being one with the Holy Spirit in Her Immaculate Conception and that One with Jesus in the Eucharist and One with the Father in the Accomplishment of His will.
Fr William Most and 2 other Priests in recent years ive heard speak about our Ladys presence in the Blessed Sacrament in an indirect way. I totally agree Joe,Jesus took moms blood and flesh, probably the same hair and eye color as well. Watch ,Jesus will look like St Joseph...haha Sometimes when i receive i ponder this great mystery, its very deep . Intresting link you made with our Ladys 3 titles ...nice
I've often thought that Jesus and Mary must have looked strikingly alike, sheer biology. But I think there is a confirmation of what you are saying, from Jesus Himself, in the Book of Heaven of Luisa Piccarreta: [Jesus:] “My daughter, the Fiat is all full of life; even more, It is life itself, and therefore all lives and all things come out from within the Fiat. From my ‘Fiat’ Creation came out; therefore in each created thing one can see the imprint of the Fiat. From the ‘Fiat Mihi’ of my dear Mama, pronounced in my Volition, having the same power of my Creative ‘Fiat’, Redemption came out. So, there is nothing in Redemption which does not contain the imprint of the ‘Fiat Mihi’ of my Mama. Even my very Humanity, my steps, the works, the words, were sealed by Her ‘Fiat Mihi.’ My pains, the wounds, the thorns, the Cross, my Blood, had the imprint of Her ‘Fiat Mihi’, because things carry the imprint of the origin from which they came out. My origin in time was the ‘Fiat Mihi’ of the Immaculate Mama, therefore all my operating carries the mark of Her ‘Fiat Mihi’. So, in each Sacramental Host there is Her ‘Fiat Mihi’; if man rises from sin, if the newborn is baptized, if Heaven opens to receive souls, it is the ‘Fiat Mihi’ of my Mama that marks, that follows everything, and from It everything proceeds. Oh! power of the Fiat - It rises at each instant, It multiplies, and It makes Itself life of all goods. B.H. Jan 17,1921
I'm not a "Trad" and had never heard of Our Lady of All Nations until a recent thread on this forum. Having read all the messages on the website, I'm less than convinced. I'm not saying that the lady didn't have apparitions, nor that she wasn't a good and devout person. There's just something about the messages that I find less than convincing. I sometimes wonder whether there are visionaries who put something of their own personality or their own worldview into their translation or relaying of the messages. Sorry, Joe, if this puts me back in your bad books.
Not at all Dolours no bad books here. In fact we have common ground. My own level of conviction about some elements of Amsterdam are not like Garabandal in which I have 100% trust in everything official. Its a bit like those people who cannot accept everything about Garabandal but see the two core messages as Marian in their origin and worthy of belief. The church also has had its doubts about certain aspects of Amsterdam but her doubts are confusing. It approved the prayer and the devotion but not so much the visions. The local ordinary gave approval and declared it to be supernatural but the CDF then changed the prayer dictated by Our Lady after having approved the original version. As ever, belief in private revelation is a private option. What convinced me of the worthiness of this event is the confirmation given to it by another approved vision, Akita. Mary returned to Akita to complete Amsterdam just as She returned to Garabandal to complete Fatima. Without Amsterdam there would gave been no miraculous statue of Akita. Our Lady choose this work as the vehicle for her messages there. I would also add another thought, while visionarries may sometimes not fully understand what is shown to them so sometimes we do not see what they have been shown in the way it was intended to be seen. ...our own discernment and understanding can be faulty. So for Amsterdam I see much more to credit it than to discredit it. It has a beautiful core message and promotes a great devotion to Mary. It proclaims a potential dogma whose teachings have long been held informally to be true by the Church but now require formal placing before her members as articles of faith. As ever Satan has sown the seeds of doubt and confusion and I ask forgiveness of The Immaculata for my inadequacy of faith. Just as someone who has worked hard to obtain a medical degree needs to enjoy the title of doctor in order to operate for the good of the public so Our Lady has quite rightly requested full recognition as The Lady of All Nations, the Mother of All Peoples so that in gaining the approbation of Church and People she may complete her mission as Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate as The Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart moves ever closer to its time.
Our Lady of All Nations was deemed of supernatural origin by the local bishop. The same cannot be said of Garabandal or Medjugorje.
But the final verdict on Garabandal is still to be made. It has never been condemned and there is abundant reason to believe. In Amsterdam we have an example of the approval of the local ordinary not being given full support in some aspects by the CDF.
Recently I apopplogised for having misquoted Our Lady at Garabandal. I can't find where I posted this. No matter. I quoted Her as saying "They are all my children" when Conchita asked for approval of a Protestant pilgrim. I posted what the Blessed Virgin actually said in approval; "he too is My son." Sometimes I am astonished at my own thickness! I had far less need to apologise than I thought. Here we have a church approved apparition in Amsterdamn in which Our Lady proclaims her wish to be known as Lady of All Nations and Mother of All Peoples. She did not qualify this with any conditions. Of course we are ALL Her children regardless of country, colour or creed.
I'm glad, Joe, that you didn't give me a slap across the wrist. Now, please don't think I'm being argumentative when I say that what I liked least about Amsterdam was the image. I'm a big believer in Fatima and Lourdes but I think they stand alone and I'm very wary of later apparitions being linked to them. I have another issue with many of these later apparitions and I hope I'm not going to come across as an upstart or some kind of heretic for saying this, but I might as well bite the bullet........I notice that in latter apparitions Our Lady talks a lot whereas in Lourdes and Fatima she got her point across succinctly. Maybe it's just me, but the Blessed Mother seems to have undergone a personality change. I would dismiss all unapproved apparitions if it weren't for the fact that we know there will be a great apostasy, the world is going to hell in a handbasket yet much of Asia and Africa have yet to be converted and they can't apostasie (hope that's a word) until they have been converted so I reckon it will take some dramatic intervention from heaven to speed up the conversion. A warning/tribulation/illumination of conscience would fit the bill. (Incidentally, of all the unapproved apparitions, I have the least problem with Garabandal, mainly because of what I have read about Conchita, although Joey dying without regaining his eyesight is a big stumbling block for me.) Sorry for any offence.
No offense taken by me and I am sure none was meant by you. You have obviously thought about all you say. Cheers.
No, I certainly meant no offence and I'm grateful that you understand that. Thinking about these unsettling times is what brought me to this forum, and I very much appreciate being able to converse and learn from you and others. Tact not being my strong point, I feel a need to apologise in advance lest the intent of my questions and comments be misunderstood. I read the Amsterdam message right through only a few days ago which is the reason this thread caught my eye. I'm afraid that I couldn't reconcile the Lady who appeared in Amsterdam with the gentle, modest Lady of few words who appeared at Lourdes and Fatima. Our Lady as advocate, co-redemptrix, etc is perfectly acceptable. An image of the Cross without the crucified Christ but with an image of a woman standing, not kneeling, in front of it doesn't seem right to me even if that woman is supposed to represent the Mother of God. I'm glad that the Vatican exercises extreme caution in dealing with apparitions and messages. I'll leave this thread now, Joe, and once again apologise if I have caused a distraction from what is clearly your intention of drawing us all closer to Jesus through his and our Blessed Mother. God bless.
I remember a priest suggesting that it was more appropriate to kiss the wood rather than the Corpus at the Easter veneration of the cross. In this way we witness to our willingness to embrace the cross God has provided for our Salvation. St Francis de Sales says this cross is taylor-made for our spiritual needs, "neither one inch too long nor one ounce too heavy" a perfect and unique fit for each individual Christian Soul. In the case of Mary I believe that her Cross is even more unique insofar as Her Cross and the Cross of Christ are one. She carried his cross with him every step of the way. His cross was her cross. From her conception She was already eternally preserved from sin. She embraces her Cross which is His cross as she fully cooperates with its saving grace, and so St Louis de Montefort says She can rightly be seen as the source of all Graces. She embraces Her Son and his cross, His beautiful head and His body the Church of which She is Mother. She did not die on the cross but died to herself in the cross, never suffering the corruption of death but assumed body and soul directly from this life to eternal life. In the image of The Lady of All Nations the Cross of Christ is on Her shoulders. It does not need to show the Body of Christ. We are the Body and Mary is our Mother. The cross is not empty. Mary's is the body that goes with this cross. By The sacrifice of Christ on the Cross we are saved but by the fiat of His Blessed Mother she shows us how to share in the suffering that leads to victory over death. The Immaculate Heart that was subject to so much Sorrow is the same Heart that will Triumph in the Mission to which it has been assigned. If we share in Her sorrow we will share in Her Triumph. Then the One who we have always known and loved simply as Mary will be elevated in our hearts and minds to the status of Lady of All Nations and Mother of All Peoples. (This was written very hastily at lunch time. Please excuse any doctrinal errors.)
I understand your wariness of wordiness. It puts me off too but doesn't stop me rambling on Seriously it is a stumbling block for me too.
