This will sound absolutely crazy. But reality seems to be changing. Some things in reality seem to be different from what large crowds of people remember. I myself put this on as faulty memory before, but I am noticing it too. It is as if we have memories from another reality, but things are different on this one, as if they were always this way. But some things I am positively confident have changed. For example, our bibles now says that Aaron’s rod swallowed the snakes in Exodus, rather the Moses’. Or that in Isaiah that a wolf will lie with the lamb in the messianic kingdom, rather than a lion. Or God gives Moses tables of stone rather than tablets. Leviticus 12:8 says two turtles, rather than two turtle doves. It affects every Bible in the world, it’s not just changing the scriptures on the internet, but as if they were always this way, from ancient times. Even outside the Bible, there are weird changes. Apparently ET never says “ET phone home” and the Mona Lisa now smiles. She didn’t smile when I remembered it. I have no idea how this is possible. I don’t think my memories are flawed. This is creepy.
This is strange, bibles are being altered. The physical copy at home seems fine, but I see the changes in the Latin Vulgate online. Did Aaron stretch out his hands whose staff swallowed snakes or was it Moses?
Your memory is not flawed, you just mixed things up a little. When I relied on memory I thought the same. I could swear it was Moses who threw the rod down but my old Douay says it was Aaron. I think it has to do with a movie I saw a long time ago where Moses threw down his staff and that image stayed with me. It does say two turtles in Leviticus but it's followed by a brief mention of pigeons
I’m not going to try to convince anyone, but if you’re willing to go down a rabbit hole, research “Bible changes and the Mandela effect”. For example, the book of Matthew says there are two demoniacs in the legion incident, but both Mark and Luke still say one demoniac. I had recently read all the gospels and remembered it was one.
Not sure what you are trying to say here in this thread. Is this a debate about false memory? Because reality doesn't change.

I don't think I can PROVE it, because all the things I can prove it with have changed. If the Mandela effect thing is real, the majority of people are not aware of any changes. Luke 12:24 mentions ravens. Now I have read the bible many times, it was never ravens. It was sparrows. And I'm not just confusing it from the similar sparrow passage in the gospel of Matthew. Yet every bible I've checked said ravens. Also the bible now has unicorns and sartyrs in it. There are a few Christians who notice the changes in the bible. And there are others who don't notice any changes. And if you don't see any changes, I sound like a madman claiming to be a poached egg. Here is some page discussing what I mean. A few months ago, it was one man in Matthew. Now it is startling to see 2. If it was only me I would dismiss it as faulty memory. But some other Chrisians claim to remember it the way I do also. It's called the Mandela effect. It sounds absurd, but somehow the bible is being altered slowly, if true. I remember "fruit loops'. But now it's 'froot loops'. http://mandelabiblechanges.com/
I’ll try one last time, since I believe we all know that Italy didn’t exist since the 1800s. Check out Acts 27:1. It does not say that Paul set sail to Italy, that did not exist yet at the time it was written. Some magic spell is rewriting the scriptures, maybe technology we don’t understand. I am reading from the Latin Vulgete.
Because he landed on the peninsula of Italia or Italy which has existed from at least the time of the Romans. Italy took its name from the province of Italia.
Italy was recognised for centuries (millenia?) as the boot shaped peninsula in southern Europe. The fact of Italian unification and the creation of a state of that name is irrelevant to that fact. As to the 'Mandela Effect' - the fact that a large minority of people apparently believe that Mandela died in prison when, he was in fact released when majority rule was about to be introduced to South Africa and became President, doesn't surprise me at all. This merely reflects the appalling lack of knowledge of current affairs/modern history/basic general knowledge displayed by many people, especially the young, these days. I used to train newly recruited graduates in the art of report writing for a major British company and would spend lunch breaks and, sometimes after work pub sessions, with these young (highly educated?) people. I became used to hearing the most outlandish theories/beliefs presented to the rest of us as absolutely proven facts and had I, and sometimes the other graduates, not challenged these propositions, the rest of the company would have gone away presenting these 'facts' to more people and so on and so on. One young woman said that she was in the process of buying a ground floor flat and said that it had a small private plot where she could sit out and take the sun. I asked which direction it faced and she said 'at the rear of the building' I explained that I was enquiring whether or not it faced roughly south in which case she would get most exposure to the sun. She wrote this down in a notebook and asked 'What other directions are there?' That was extreme I admit but some of the other things I heard were nearly as astonishing.
I don't remember the word "ravens" being used and I would swear it was sparrows too. I checked three different bibles (DR, RSV and the NAB) and all of them say ravens! Also, I've read the bible cover to cover many times and never encountered the word "unicorn." Yet, I searched the DR and in Psalm 91 "But my horn shall be exalted like that of the unicorn: and my old age in plentiful mercy!"
I did google about the ET saying phone home. ET says home phone but the little girl screams Et phone home immediately after ET says it.
A re'em, also reëm (Hebrew: רְאֵם), is an animal mentioned nine times in the Hebrew Bible. It has been translated as "unicorn" in the King James Version, and in some Christian Bible translations as "oryx" (which was accepted as the referent in Modern Hebrew), "wild ox", "wild bull", "buffalo" or "rhinoceros".
It is still sparrows in many Bibles - one of the problems is that there are so many protestant Bibles -- so better sticking to a Catholic Bible New International Version So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. New Living Translation So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. English Standard Version Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Berean Study Bible So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Berean Literal Bible Therefore you should not fear; you are worth more than many sparrows. King James Bible Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Here’s the Latin Vulgate, the earliest Catholic Bible I know of. Romans 8:24 Instead of ‘hope’ it should be ‘faith’. As in, faith in the unseen, not by sight. Matthew 18:20 Where ‘two or three are gathered in My name’ it should be when ‘two or more’
I think I’ll just drop this. If I’m not misremembering things, and this is a real effect, by the time Satan’s minions are done corrupting the scriptures, antichrist will be able to point to the scriptures and claim to be the fulfillment of scripture. The way I remember scripture contradicts Luke 17:34-35 as it stands now: “I say to you: In that night there shall be two men in one bed. The one shall be taken and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together. The one shall be taken and the other shall be left. Two men shall be in the field. The one shall be taken and the other shall be left. “ The way I remember it, it was two PEOPLE in a bed and the two women were grinding some food. If am not mad or misremembering things, the false prophet will someday be able to point to corrupted scripture and be able to say our traditions are just traditions of men. I don’t think I can convince anyone, but I just remember the Bible used to be different. I apologize if I made anyone antagonized or seem stubborn. This is a mystery between me and God. Maybe it is my memory.
I have experienced these same types of effects, Thomas, but in more inconsequential areas. I don't doubt you and your suppositions that this could lead to future misapprehensions or corrupted use make sense to me. I work in medical technology and our taxonomy is being changed daily to suit the current shifting narratives. The definitions for vaccines, herd immunity, etc. have all been altered in the past year. And, of course, the APA has shifted from calling transgenderism a disorder in line with its removal of homosexuality as a disorder. I don't see why this wouldn't also be occurring on a more mystical scale as well.
when Christ promised that the power of Hell would not conquer the Church, was he also referring to the fact that Scripture was not corrupted throughout the world or only to the dogmatic authority of the Roman pontiff and the ecumenical councils?
