Pope Francis and Schism Thomas G. Weinandy, OFM, Cap. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2019 The Church, in her long history, has never been confronted with the situation like the one in which she now finds herself. Pope Francis recently spoke of a possible schism within the Church, a schism that does not frighten him. We have had many schisms in the past, he says, and there will be schisms in the future. So, there is nothing to fear in the present. However, it is the nature of the present possible schism that is new, and this unprecedented new schism is frightening. One cannot help but think that Francis is referring to members of the Church in the United States. Francis receives, from America, his most theologically challenging and pastorally concerned criticism, which centers on a questionable remaking of the faith and of the Church. Such censure, it is believed by Francis’s cohort, originates from within a conservative intellectual elite who are politically motivated, and many of whom are wealthy. Francis thinks that they are unwilling to change, and so refuse to accept the new work of the Spirit in our day. Ultimately, one discerns that he believes his critics are psychologically and emotionally impaired, and so must be dealt with gently (though that gentleness is yet to be experienced by those who fall under his vindictive abuse). He himself has called those who oppose him many insulting names. What Francis does not realize (and his close associates fail to grasp) is that the overwhelming majority of his American critics would never initiate a schism. They recognize that he is the pope and thus the successor of Peter, and that to remain within the Catholic Church is to remain faithful to the pope, even if it entails being critical of the pope in one’s faithfulness to him. Some may wish that an actual schism will take place in America in order to get rid of the obdurate conservative element and so demonstrate that they were not really Catholic all along. But that is not going to happen, because those critical bishops, priests, theologians, commentators, and laity (more laity than Francis will admit) know that what they believe and uphold is in accord with Scripture, the Church councils, the ever-living magisterium, and the saints. As has been often noted, Pope Francis and his cohort never engage in theological dialogue, despite their constant claim that such dialogue is necessary. The reason is that they know they cannot win on that front. Thus, they are forced to resort to name-calling, psychological intimidation, and sheer will-to-power. Now, as many commentators have already pointed out, the German church is more likely to go into schism. The German bishops are proposing a two-year “binding” synod that, if what is proposed is enacted, would introduce beliefs and practices contrary to the universal tradition of the Church. I believe, however, that such a German schism will not formally happen either, for two reasons. First, many within the German hierarchy know that by becoming schismatic they would lose their Catholic voice and identity. This they cannot afford. They need to be in fellowship with Pope Francis, for he is the very one who has fostered a notion of synodality that they are now attempting to implement. He, therefore, is their ultimate protector. The Miracles of St. Francis Xavier by Peter Paul Rubens, c. 1617 * Second, while Pope Francis may stop them from doing something egregiously contrary to the Church’s teaching, he will allow them to do things that are ambiguously contrary, for such ambiguous teaching and pastoral practice would be in accord with Francis’ own. It is in this that the Church finds herself in a situation that she never expected. (my emphasis) It’s important to bear in mind that the German situation must be viewed within a broader context: the theological ambiguity within Amoris Laetitia; the not so subtle advancing of the homosexual agenda; the “re-foundation” of the (Roman) John Paul II Institute on Marriage and Family, i.e., the undermining of the Church’s consistent teaching on moral and sacramental absolutes, especially with regard to the indissolubility of marriage, homosexuality, contraception, and abortion. Similarly, there is the Abu Dhabi statement, which directly contradicts the will of the Father and so undermines the primacy of Jesus Christ his Son as the definitive Lord and universal Savior. Moreover, the present Amazon Synod is teeming with participants sympathetic to and supportive of all of the above. One must likewise take into account the many theologically dubious cardinals, bishops, priests, and theologians whom Francis supports and promotes to high ecclesial positions. With all of this in mind, we perceive a situation, ever-growing in intensity, in which on the one hand, a majority of the world’s faithful – clergy and laity alike – are loyal and faithful to the pope, for he is their pontiff, while critical of his pontificate, and, on the other hand, a large contingent of the world’s faithful – clergy and laity alike – enthusiastically support Francis precisely because he allows and fosters their ambiguous teaching and ecclesial practice. What the Church will end up with, then, is a pope who is the pope of the Catholic Church and, simultaneously, the de facto leader, for all practical purposes, of a schismatic church. Because he is the head of both, the appearance of one church remains, while in fact there are two. (my emphasis) The only phrase that I can find to describe this situation is “internal papal schism,” for the pope, even as pope, will effectively be the leader of a segment of the Church that through its doctrine, moral teaching, and ecclesial structure, is for all practical purposes schismatic. This is the real schism that is in our midst and must be faced, but I do not believe Pope Francis is in any way afraid of this schism. As long as he is in control, he will, I fear, welcome it, for he sees the schismatic element as the new “paradigm” for the future Church. Thus, in fear and trembling, we need to pray that Jesus, as the head of His body, the Church, will deliver us from this trial. Then again, he may want us to endure it, for it may be that only by enduring it can the Church be freed from all the sin and corruption that now lies within her, and be made holy and pure. On a more hopeful note, I believe it will be the laity who bring about the needed purification. Pope Francis has himself stated that this is the age of the laity. Lay people see themselves as helpless, having no ecclesial power. Yet if the laity raise their voices, they will be heard. More specifically, I believe it will depend mostly on faithful and courageous Catholic women. They are the living icons of the Church, the bride of Christ, and they, in union with Mary, the Mother of God and the Mother of the Church, will birth anew, in the Holy Spirit, a holy Body of Christ. https://www.thecatholicthing.org/2019/10/08/pope-francis-and-schism/
What next! And this seems to be another "fix it" only in the material way attempt....like patching the dike in some temporal way while watching and expecting the holes to become too big for anything as such devised by man....when actually we're already there: A married priesthood not the real revolution in ‘ordained elders’ proposal It is amazing what a synod can do for a person. German Bishop Fritz Lobinger, a 90-year-old retired missionary bishop in South Africa, has suddenly become the talk of Rome. Lobinger’s idea of ordaining “elders” to the priesthood to provide local communities regular access to the sacraments has been the root of discussions about “married priests” that have dominated headlines about the Synod on the Amazon, the three-week summit of bishops which began this week at the Vatican. This is a pressing issue in the region - some areas have only one priest per 15,000 Catholics, with priests forced to travel by canoe to reach isolated communities. Some people might not see a priest for a year, leaving lay catechists to conduct Sunday scripture services, as well as to preside over baptisms and marriages. At the same time, there has been strong resistance to the idea of abandoning the rule of celibacy for priests in the Latin Rite. Lobinger’s revolutionary idea is an attempt to square the circle on the issue. The bishop - who also faced a lack of priests in his remote diocese - has for decades advocated ordaining married men, or “elders” to the priesthood, but with a twist: They would not be clerics in the ordinary sense. The “elders,” although technically ordained, would not even be called priests and would work under a series of limitations: They would only be allowed to serve in their local community, would not receive a seminary education, would not wear clerical dress. In other words, these “elders” would be married men with jobs, taking weekend courses for a couple of years before being ordained. These “elders” would be guided by the seminary-educated, celibate priests. (For Americans, the concept has a ring of familiarity, since permanent deacons have a similar background, although they can’t hear confessions or celebrate Mass.) Lobinger’s idea is a bit of a departure from the traditional idea of viri probati- Latin for “tested men” - where some select older men might be allowed to be ordained to the priesthood without going through the same extensive formation as other priests. This proposition predates the current married priest debate, and was originally proposed for older, celibate men in mission territories who were too old to have gone through a formation process that regularly began when a man was in their early teens. Nowadays, it is used exclusively to refer to married candidates. The viri probati might labor under certain restrictions - perhaps not allowed to serve as a pastor or even be allowed to preach a homily - but they would still be priests. In many ways, the viri probati are conceptually similar to the “simplex priest” of religious houses before Vatican II, who could celebrate Mass but not hear confessions or preach sermons. Lobinger instead says there should be two different forms of priesthood, as distinct as possible. And herein lies the real revolution being proposed. Although it’s considered the most controversial talking point of the synod, a married priesthood is something the Catholic Church has experience with and understands. Most of the Eastern Rites have a married clergy, hundreds of clergy converts have become married Catholic priests in the Latin Rite, and in the ecumenical activities, Catholic clergy see their Protestant counterparts living and ministering with their spouses. Lobinger’s proposal, on the other hand, could radically alter the idea of priesthood as it’s understood in the Catholic Church, even creating a caste system among priests. “This means that we would have two different forms of priesthood. Both receive the same sacrament of Holy Orders. Theologically speaking both are priests, but in daily life we would always use two different terms: priests and elders,” the bishop wrote in U.S. Catholic in 2010. “The two kinds would exercise two different roles. The elders would lead the community and administer the sacraments in their own community, while the priests would be the spiritual guides of elders in several self-ministering communities. The priests would thus serve the whole diocese, while the elders would serve only the community where they were ordained. Elders would not be transferred.” The proposal raises a number of questions, without even mentioning married priests or celibacy. First and foremost, what does one do with an entrenched “elder” that, in the end, is not a good fit for ministry, especially if he is a popular leader in the community? Lobinger says this can be prevented by only ordaining “ministry teams” to prevent a single figure from gaining too much power, but it is hard to see how this would prevent the problem. But even if all the practical and legal questions can by answered by the synod fathers, another issue is lurking underneath the proposal, which touches on the colonial history of the Amazon region. “Elders” would most often represent indigenous communities in a diocese led by a non-indigenous bishop assisted by non-indigenous priests, meaning an uncomfortable racial element would exist among the two classes of priests. The system would have the de facto result of creating an indigenous clergy not allowed to use the titles and dress used by non-indigenous clergy - nor even allowed to exercise their ministry outside of their village. For indigenous peoples who themselves have often had to suffer under similar restrictions in their daily life, there might be resentment if their “elders” are treated as second-class clerics. And that is the stuff of actual revolutions. https://cruxnow.com/news-analysis/2...-real-revolution-in-ordained-elders-proposal/
From Luz de Maria message of Sept. 19: Stand firm in the Faith, be faithful to My Son, be cautious with innovations in My Son’s Church (cf. Gal 1:8-11). And from LdM message of 9/11/19 My Church is also infested with new errors in order to lead you away from the Center of Our Most Holy Trinity and to accept innovations that are not the Will of Our Most Holy Trinity but of men who, abusing power, have drawn lines in a direction opposed to My Will. And from 9/25/19 LdM message but not officially translated as yet....so this is a very rough translation: ......Taking advantage of the confusion that My Church suffers, I have already announced to you: "Priests will rise against priests, bishops against bishops, cardinals against cardinals." My Church lives in confusion, bent by the evil that has penetrated her to dominate her and lead her to suffer. My children must stand firm and be creatures of Faith supported by the knowledge of My Word and by the love for Our Sacred Trinity. MY WORD IS FOR TODAY, TODAY AND ALWAYS (Cf. Heb 13,8). IT IS IN THE CURRENT STATE, THEREFORE, IT IS AN ETERNAL NOVELTY THAT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE INNOVATED BY MAN, but to be welcomed, taken to praxis every moment of life, so that on the way they leave the rags that load and dress With new clothes. Humanity is controlled by those who have penetrated the great institutions that represent nations, appearing to help those in need and seeking the good of the people and of the human being. WAKE UP CHILDREN, DO NOT WALK TO BLIND! THE MASONRY ENQUISTADA WITHIN THE CENTER OF MY CHURCH AND LEADS THEM AWAY FROM ME, SO THAT THEY WILL CELEBRATE BEING THE CURRENT HERODS, PROVIDING THE WELCOME TO THE ABORTION THAT LEADS TO BLEED MY HEART. With evil they promote in My People to strive with disastrous ideologies, enduring nature and contrary to My teachings. DON'T BE SURPRISED BEFORE THE STRENGTH OF NATURE AND ITS PHENOMENA THAT INCREASE SHOUTING THE MAN WHO DOES NOT ADORATE HIM. I AM HIS GOD (Cf. Ex 3.14) AND NOTHING OUTSIDE ME CAN WORSHIP. I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE; HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME, EVEN DIE SHALL LIVE. (Jn 11, 25). ....... WAKE UP CHILDREN DO NOT SLEEP !, MY CHURCH IS INVADED FOR FALSE IDEOLOGIES. I WANT THE SALVATION OF ALL MY CHILDREN.
How are we to do this? One cardinal stated recently that opposition to the Synod is 'small, very small'. They need to know that it is significant, but as there is no official mechanism for the faithful to make their views known, they can get away with this sort of falsehood. Do we tell our priests, write to our bishops? To the Vatican? What do we do and who will organise the activity?
Lord have mercy After I prayed that rosary, a strange thing happened. I just kept repeating The lord your God is one! You shall have no strange gods before you.It was so strong and seemed to be a word of God..This intention shall also be in my rosaries. BE GONE SATAN! St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, thrust into hell satan and all the evil spirits who roam about the world seeking the ruin of souls! Fr. Heilman has asked that we all say the St. Michael prayer after our rosaries and that we pray the St. Pio novena after the rosary too. Jesus, we trust in you! Ps 68: 1 Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered, And let those who hate Him flee before Him. 2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish before God
Thanks Carol. I see where you're coming from. I tried in my post to say that this pontificate is drastically different that the preceding two, but I guess we're just looking at the same thing from slightly different angles.
"Do not yoke yourselves to unbelievers for what participation have justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness?" We all understand this from the most basic catechism lessons. How are we to understand it in light of Assisi? Do we not yoke ourselves to them when we pray with them or incredibly see offered to them the stripped Churches that contain the relics of Holy martyr's in their alters only to be transformed by their ceremonies into temples to worship demons in? Or when we in turn venerate those who bring this horror upon us and all the church in heaven and on earth? "Which is not another, only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. [8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema. [9] As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema. [10] For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." When has Christ Our Lord, An Apostle, the Fathers of the Church, a Saint or any Pope besides these men preached the message of Catholics joining with pagans and unbelievers in prayer as the great hope of peace for mankind? God does not change. He has always hated false pagan worship and He always will. He is a jealous God. He has always punished and allowed those who take part in it to go to their destruction if they do not repent. The spirit of Assisi is dressed up in the new age religion and spirit of Antichrist come to lead into error and damnation, it is the global religion put forward on the back of the EU just as Babylon once was with its acceptance of all religions and cults so long as they venerated the emperors. What really is the spirit of antichrist? Isn't it that which diminishes Jesus by not proclaiming Him the Son of God, the Messiah? It lowers Him and the one true religion to the place of all other false religions. It is sin against the Holy Spirit. Nearly all of Europe has fallen from the path of truth and has placed mankind in God's rightful place by doing exactly that. What once persecuted and tried to destroy the church was resurrected by the blood of countless Martyrs as the Bride of Christ there but it has become again a pagan queen drunk on the blood of saints. Jesus warned us against false shepherds repeatedly. I don't know how anyone could be more false than to lead their flock intentionally into apostasy by taking part in religious ceremonies with false and pagan religions. The world absolutely loves seeing this abomination because it hates the Church and anything which resembles it. Look at how easily the world then turns on them and uses their own plagues of sexual sins, corruption and vice against them to hasten their fall.
Now we know that we should have been very suspicious about that name Bergoglio chose for his papacy!!! Vatican Synod on Amazon Proposes Recognition of ‘Ecological Sins’ ROME — Participants in the Vatican synod on the Amazon region proposed adding “sins against the environment” to lists of traditionally recognized sins in their second day of discussions and deliberations. Synod fathers called for an “ecological conversion” that would allow people to see “the gravity of sins against the environment as sins against God, against our neighbour, and against future generations,” Vatican News reported Wednesday. The working document of the Amazon Synod frames the entire question of the Church’s renewal in the region in terms of the environment, proposing “New Paths for the Church and for an Integral Ecology.” In order to be “ever more synodal,” the Church must listen “to the peoples and to the earth by coming into contact with the abundant reality of an Amazon full of life and wisdom but also of contrasts,” the text states. “It continues with the cry that is provoked by destructive deforestation and extractivist activities and that demands an integral ecological conversion,” it says. Again and again the document directs synod members to turn their attention to the cries of the earth and to “convert.” “The aggression towards this vital zone of Mother Earth and its inhabitants threatens their subsistence, their culture and their spirituality,” it proclaims. “It also affects the life of all humanity, particularly the poor, the excluded, the marginalized, the persecuted. The present situation calls urgently for an integral ecological conversion.” “The culture of the Amazon, which integrates human beings with nature, constitutes a benchmark for building a new paradigm of integral ecology,” it declares. https://www.breitbart.com/environme...-amazon-proposes-recognition-ecological-sins/
He's preaching to the choir all right.....the globalist controlled populations of the world. His choice of comparisons to prove his points always fail bigly! Is this the philosophical excuse for not cleaning up those gay orgies behind Vatican walls? That that would be an action of judgement? I mean if he's really concerned about his neighbors he should at least sympathize with those neighbors who themselves have to call the cops due to the noise and late night carousing. Pope Francis: ‘Do I love God or dogmatic formulations?’ VATICAN CITY, October 9, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – During his weekly general audience, Pope Francis today insinuated that Catholics who hold strongly to the orthodox teachings of the Church are ideologues and, like Saul of Tarsus, are in need of conversion. “Ideologues” who “desire the so-called ‘purity’ of the Church are attacking Christ,” said the pontiff. Pope Francis recounted the story of St. Paul’s conversion in the Acts of the Apostles saying that up until that time, he was an ideologue who persecuted members of the early Church and that “fratricidal fury” compelled him. “The young Saul is portrayed as intransigent, that is, one who shows intolerance towards those who think differently from him,” he said. Saul “absolutizes his political or religious identity and reduces the other to a potential enemy to fight.” “For Saul, religion had turned into ideology: religious ideology, social ideology, political ideology,” he said. “The angry condition – because Saul was angry – and Saul's conflictual situation invites everyone to ask themselves: How do I live my life of faith? Am I going to meet others or am I against others?” asked Pope Francis. “Do I belong to the universal Church – with the good and the bad, all of us – or do I hold a selective ideology?” he continued. “Do I love God or dogmatic formulations?” Pope Francis added, “What is my religious life like? Does professing faith in God make me friendly or hostile towards those who are different from me?” “An attack against a member of the Church is an attack against Christ himself! And those who are ideologues because they desire the so-called ‘purity’ of the Church are attacking Christ himself.” Pope Francis concluded: “Let us ask the Father to let us too, like Saul, experience the impact of his love that can only make a heart of stone a heart of flesh, capable of embracing ‘the same sentiments of Christ Jesus.’” “If you love me, you will keep my commandments,” Jesus says in the 14th chapter of the Gospel of John. “Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me.” https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pope-francis-do-i-love-god-or-dogmatic-formulations
Peruvian bishop tells synod: Amazonians need evangelizers, not married priests October 9, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – People in the Amazon region need evangelizers, not married priests, Peruvian Bishop Rafael Escudero told the synod on Tuesday. Bishop Escudero serves the people of the remote prelature of Moyobamba in north-central Peru, which includes both mountainous areas and the tropical rainforests of the Amazonian basin. The bishop represented the poverty-stricken area of Peru at the Amazon Synod, and gave a speech in Rome on Tuesday to other participants. In an interview with InfoCatolica, Bishop Escudero said of the region he serves that priests are sorely stretched to serve the more than 2,700 communities in the prelature. “More spiritual, doctrinal, human, pastoral, and family formation is needed...and that is what the parishes are doing.” As for evangelization, Escudero said that all of the parishes in the prelature are imparting catechism and giving retreats. “We have more than 1,200 organizers,” he said. As part of assistance from his native Spain, Escudero manages 32 Spanish missionary priests who have served for long stints in the prelature. “Every year,” Escudero said, “we baptize 3,000 adults – people who had always been close to the Church but had taken years to receive the sacrament.” Moyobamba province has approximately 122,000 inhabitants. Escudero said that one of his challenges is in evangelizing the indigenous Aguaruna people and that the prelature has not been able to adequately minister to them. “It would be important for evangelizers to live among them,” he said, “and therefore understand them in the midst of their culture and customs.” He told his listeners in Rome that the people of the Amazon region need evangelizers rather than married priests. He said that he hopes that they can view priests as something other than a “mere functionary of the Mass.” Escudero told InfoCatolica that even while there is a shortage of priests in the Amazon, the controversial working document for the synod seeks the ordination of viri probati “elderly married men” (elderly married men of proven virtue). They would only administer the sacraments but be apart from “teaching and governance.” “As a consequence, there is a separation between the munus sactificandi, munus regendi, and the munus docendi,” he said. This is something new for the Church, given that the “hierarchical-sacramental structure of the Church is a divine mandate.” This would mean a “new vision of order that does not proceed from revelation but from the culture of Amazonian peoples who foresee ‘authority under rotation.’” Once the requirement for celibacy is lifted for the viri probati, he said, they would become a sort of second class of priests, while priests in general would become mere administrators of the sacraments. “The priest, instead of a pastor of a community, source of advice, teacher of Christian life, a presence close to Christ, would become a mere functionary of the Mass,” he said. The shortage of priests in the Amazon region, Escudero said, is indeed a challenge: “The Church exists to evangelize, as St. Paul VI recalled in Evangeli nuntiandi. The first goal of the synod should be to find out how, with all due respect, how can we evangelize those who do not know Jesus Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life, and who are living without an answer to the great questions of humanity. We should not forget that the majority of the people of Amazonia are not Catholic: they are therefore living deprived of the knowledge of the infinite love who is Jesus Christ.” “It is urgent to deeply evangelize by sending the best priests, religious, and lay people from dioceses and religious congregations who have the most pastors. An evangelization that preaches Jesus Christ as the sole Saviour of mankind, of nations and cultures, and create communities where the proven Catholic faith is lived intensely,” Escudero said. Escudero called on his fellow bishops to work harder on training catechists and pastoral workers, saying, “From a people that has been evangelized and well formed there will come charisms and from among these will come celibacy for the priesthood.” “While there is a lack of the Eucharist in Amazonia and many other places in the world, there is no lack of vocations and priests in the dioceses and religious congregations who are trained in the wise doctrine of the Church and live an authentically Christian spirituality,” he added. “There are too many bishops and priests” who work in administration and academia. “It is time...to dedicate ourselves to more prayer and preaching of the Word.” https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/p...zonians-need-evangelizers-not-married-priests
WOW, go to work, come back and review the news of the day and it is one corruption after another...... Who can keep up with it all at this speed? Voris can't even keep up with it all !! The devil is having a hay day, at the expense of the faithful. Well, time for another rosary.
All right you "Ideologues who are in need of conversion". Should you seek out your conversions, it shouldn't be hard to find a place to do so in today's church How stupid of a question he proposed >>> Where does he think dogma comes from if not from God? Did he flunk 2nd grade catechism class too?
Yes. Funny it used to be a Rosary a day (5 decades) and the DM chaplet and that was my prayer anchor along with holy hours and daily Mass when I can get there but now it is 4 and 5 rosaries and Fr Ripperger's prayers and In Sinu Jesu and the scriptures. Plus all the rest And I still feel like "an unprofitable servant." Six(?) years ago at a holy hour I believe the Blessed Mother spoke to me directly from the altar and told me "the times of times are upon us" and asked me "where will you stand?" It shocked me and it began the uptick in serious prayer but these last 3 years have simply been a runaway train. So much of my life wasted on trivial things. Now I watch the coming true of prophecies almost by the minute. Trying to keep my lamp full and carry lots of extra oil. whew.
Steve, on the earthly level the buck stops with Pope Francis. There is no way around him. So we pray and fast and live out the Gospel in our own diocese. If you think it is prudent contact your bishop. If two-thirds of the Cardinals stood against Francis, there is still no impeachment process; he is a monarch. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Interesting you mentioned our Lady's words to you 6 years ago. Seems our present pope came into office about that time He needs more rosaries said for him at this time. Count me in on that.
So here is the latest scene from inside St. Peter's. An Amazonian girl being carried aloft through the Church. This reminds me of the Goddess of Reason being carried into Notre Dame in the same way during the French Revolution. The stated goal of the French ceremony was to replace the Catholic Church with a new religion...Reason. Is that what is happening now in St. Peter's? Are we witnessing the official replacment of Catholicism with a neo-paganism? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_of_Reason
And this is the Vatican's procession for the Feast of the Holy Rosary. Not carrying a statue of Our Lady, but a procession of cardinals holding aloft a pagan earth goddess.
How can they not be stirred by their consciences? Well, I guess the only plausible explanation is that they were never truly Catholic and infiltrated the Church for the purpose of destroying it. No Catholic in their right mind would participate in this debacle.
