I would guess that 99% of such messages these days are false.

But there are other weird things happening a whole crop of, ' Experts' , appearing . I have no idea why they think they are experts. But they are far from it

Also even messages that are probably false in the first place get distrorted and changed on utube for hits

There are more false messages and visions going about nowadays than there are snowflakes in a Siberian winter...and that's just the Catholic ones

The whole things become a quagmire and a minefield

But its Fr Olviera's responsibility that Luca's is doing this.

    It's a mess

The thing is things are so confused and dangerous in the World at the moment that people need an anchor , a sense of direction, what's in the future and that gives a big, big market for such things

To be a Prophet is to bear a Cross. But I think many, many people these days just want to be famous

  5. Seriously yes.

Yes, it sows confusion. I don't need any more of that.

There is a gentleman at my Church who has been on utube he was outside after Mass the other day talking, well preaching to a little crowd of nine people from the top of steps, talking down to them the other day.

    This is not good.

The other gentleman who is promoting him is one of the top video bloggers in Ireland.

    Again not good

    Diabolic confusion

A lot of this has to do with what is happening with Pope Francis and the Vatican

Now everyone thinks they are Pope .

Respect for Church Authority has nose dived

Lucas does not have the mandate to interpret the messages, only to report them to the people. It would be most unwise of Lucas to act as an interpreter of the meanings of the messages. Do not let that affect your belief in them. God hasnt given the interpretation to Lucas.

But then why is Father Oliviera letting him do it?

What does this tell us about him?

I felt that the line of questioning of Lucas by the lady was very inappropriate. It was as if Lucas had inadvertantly walked into a quagmire by sitting down with her. She was putting him in difficult spots, asking many things, and though she meant well, you could see his discomfort and hear it in his voice.

Quite the contrary, I think she gave him a really easy ride

If it had been myself doing it he would have been sitting up a lot straighter..and I was, initially favourable, until I listened to what he was saying.

Then it would have been the third degree

    There were loads of flaws
Also I just didn't trust him

Hello @Lumena, the problem is that since Lucas is Father Oliveira's assistant, we are forced to trust Lucas to be sure of the priest's existence. It is like the relationship between Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition, in which we believe in Jesus and the gospels because the Church taught us.

This is why I don't generally do discernment on such phenomena in recent years, they're almost certainly false.

But they're amongst certain to have crowds of fans who will mob you for asking questions.

    Who needs it?

Well, BrianK started this thread. In the beginning, I felt positive about Fr O.

We seemed to like him then. Even you, Padraig,

But discernment I'd rendered nearly impowhen the visionary is anonymous
Apart from anything else how do you do historic analysis?

They were interesting and they did tie into contemporary good other prophesies. Butvthis I'd only the surface if things.

I ,and I am sure many others interested in Catholic Prohesy could very, very easily have written such messages myself

Yes, and as I stated when I posted the thread, “This was shared with me and I know nothing more about it.”

Now that we’ve had a chance to ruminate on this and do a bit of discernment, we can get past the sensational aspects and see a little deeper into it.

And there’s varying levels of credibility given to it.

Even though I posted the thread, now my gut instinct mirrors that of Padraig. Mea culpa.

In my own case, I’m now in the camp of ignoring almost everything that doesn’t have explicit Church approval. (Garabandal a possible exception.) And that includes some that many here do follow tenaciously
