I think a very visible sign of the confusion in the Church is this recent vidoeo form Michael Voris. I am reminded of the very famous quote by President Harry Truman. 'The buck stops here' Voris is lost and confused as are many others. But the buck does indeed stop at the top. I'm sorry let's get real. Why deny it? It's everybody elses fault wo Pope Francis gave the top jobs to? But who gave them the tops jobs in the first place? This narrative is confused nonsense. A child would not believe in it.
The real reason Michael Voris does not want to directly criticise Pope Francis is that it would redound on himself. So he attacks everyone sorounding the Pope but not the Pope himself. The Pope is surrounded by wicked folks using him. A nonsense. The Pope is responsible for those he appoints. He is as pesponsible for his actions as we all are. He is not some kind of Zombie. 'The buck stops here.' But that would be a very unpopular thing to say. So he does not say it. Michael likes to portray himself as the very brave Knight riding out to kill the Dragon. But he is afraid. Terrified. I don't really blame him.
Funny you should post a video from Voris. I've been watching his channel a lot over recent weeks and, though I've been critical of him in the past, I'm starting to soften on him a little.
I think he has lost the plot. A Pope who appoints wicked people to all the top spots and who are using him and its not his fault! I mean really?
Voris seems to think the Pope is clueless. That poor Pope Francis has no idea who he has put in key positions. Pope Benedict knew what he was in for Apr 24, 2005 - ''Pray for me, that I may not flee for fear of the wolves.'' And flee he did. Pope Francis on the other hand has surrounded himself with and promoted these very wolves.
Sigh I am keeping a reserved silence on the Holy Father. But I will not hear some confused nonesense in a desperate crazy attempt to , 'Defend him'. Let's get real here.
Voris has put out two intriguing videos on his YouTube about the resignation of Ben XVI and, I must say, he asks some very good questions and raises some interesting points about the whole thing.
i Pope Benedict was never meant to resign. I said that at the time. why do you think the lightening bolt hit the Vatican? I must watch my blood pressure. I will keel over...and die I said this at the time.
Me too Padraig. And everyone else I know said it too. In fact, Nobody I know bought the whole "told to go after a mystical experience" thing. Nobody.
Did you know, according to Mark Mallet, lightning hit the Vatican at 6pm, which is the biblical time night begins.
If you've seen any of the recent photos of Benedict, I think you'd agree that if he hadn't resigned we would be having a papal election right about now. Can you imagine the confusion over having had the first part of the Synod last year, followed by a papal election, followed by the Synod that just finished?
Seriously though, how is he? I often remember him in prayer. I thought he was great and a big loss when he went. I heard conflicting reports of him being deaf in one ear. His writing is breathtaking. A genius.
He is 88 years old; in the last photo I saw of him with Francis I swear he didn't look a day over 90. He might not be deaf in one ear but at that age I would be surprised if he didn't have some hearing loss in one ear or another. I haven't heard him speak but his gait is halting. I agree that his writing is beautiful; I believe that is because his writing is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Still, he is 88 and I think the stress of the papacy would have killed him. I don't doubt that he recv'd divine inspiration to step down so he could spend the rest of his life in prayer, and someone with more vim and vigor would be leading the Church.
I have been watching Michael Voris since my "reversion" last year. I could never find the exact video, but he states openly at some point that his apostolate made a conscious decision never to criticize the Pope. He stated various reasons. I think partly because he is the Holy Spirit's choice, good, bad or otherwise. I have to say, I understand he is not everyone's cup of tea, but I give him a lot of credit. I wouldn't know nearly as much about what is going on in the Church without him.
While I get what Voris is doing with his site/tv, he's too angry for my taste. The saints always had a joy even in troubled times. Padre Pio, who was known to be tough and gruff, still had a supernatural hope - "pray, hope and don't worry.". With the world crashing down about our ears we should stay away from the temptation of doom & gloom. I wish Voris was a more positive example instead of just harping on the wrongs and evil. We need more true saints, O Lord!
