    maryrose,

    I still am in a state of shock concerning Ireland. In the USA, the process: contraceptives/divorce - abortion - gay rights - gay marriage - transgenderism was a slow, frog in the pot process with a little speed-up in the last 10 years. But this process took 60 years.

    With you all in Ireland, it's like they stuffed it down your throats in about 15 years!:eek:

    I guess the powers-that-be realized it doesn't have to be as drawn out as they originally thought. Imagine how fast things will move when the AntiChrist figure shows up on the scene. Then it will simply be take the mark or starve.

    Very efficient! :rolleyes::whistle::cry:

    Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

    I've just returned from a holiday in France. Nowhere did we see any of the politically-correct propaganda now so familiar in Ireland. We left via Dublin port and there was a rainbow flag outside it, for whatever reason. Not only did I not notice any rainbow symbols in all our travels through France, it is also a desert for the likes of vegans, vegetarians and glutenists-they don't cater for these weirdos, at all, thanks be to God. Smokers aren't treated as lepers there, either.

    Unfortunately, many Irish are utterly unable to think for themselves and will follow, lemming-like, whatever fad is dominant in the moment. Look at the inexplicable spread of the horrible and disfiguring tattoo craze. Many are also so insecure that they will obsessively virtue-signal in order to gain approval from their peers-God forbid that they might be seen to be a curmudgeon, or even the slightest degree off-trend. These weaknesses are particularly apparent in the city of Dublin, which seems to embrace every culture but its own. Perhaps, many centuries of being denied our sovereignty, which would have been most extremely manifest in the capital, explains this inferiority complex.

    A common term now, in certain circles, and a good one at that, is that of the 'preference cascade'. Our insecure, self-loathing society seems ideally vulnerable to a gullible fall for such a radical phenomenon. This might explain our herd-like sudden, collective rush to insane perversity. The upside of this view-point is that it can cut both ways.

    We here in the US, have cities and some states such as what is going on in Ireland, but it is not so noticable in most of the US. Sometimes Padraig will comment on those he works with and those he sees in a park, on how they give him evil looks or seem outside the normal and I wonder about this, as this not the normal in my world. There seems to be something more diabolic in Ireland and I know there are places in the US one could find this, but as I say, it is not where I live. Nearly everyone in my world is very worldly and most have stopped going to church, but I dont see the paranormal as such.

    It's a term to explain a tendency for a minority view to rapidly attain the assent of the majority. It tends to begin less rapidly, but reaches a certain popularity beyond which it expands exponentially. It's dynamic is that the vast majority of the people are like sheep and feel more comfortable being part of the flock. Of course, such a phenomenon requires skillful propaganda and manipulation by those who wish to broaden their beliefs from being
    minority ones to being those of the majority.

    The conversion of a people to Christianity from, for example, paganism, is an example of a preference cascade. Of course, such a conversion is an example of a benevolent preference cascade. In Ireland, we have recently experienced a very malevolent one, whereby the spirit of most of the people has transformed from a traditional Catholic one to a progressivist, liberal one. I'd wager that, in most cases, the new fashion is no less shallow and unconsidered than the original Catholicism. I have heard people who I would have thought knew better declare themselves as 'liberals now', although I would be confident that if I asked them to outline their new philosophy they would not have known where to begin-they merely wish to be perceived as 'cool' and 'sophisticated' (having no idea of the true nature of sophism) and to be on the side that's winning.

    What is it with the full arm tattoo craze, how many men I see with one arm fully tatooed, the amount of detail and time gone into doing it, the the amount of pride in showing it off, usually along with a beard that has had nearly as much time spent making it interesting enough to parade around the town. Such vain narcissism, surely there is some form of mark of the beast symbol and often it crossed me that the more paint on the body the more I feel their soul lacks Christ.

    satan is clearly rapidly destroying Ireland. The rosary is our hope but we need more people saying it each day, more people reminded that we are again at a time in our history that only the rosary will save us.

    We seemed to embrace the changes wrought by the 'spirit of Vatican II' which hijacked the perfectly orthodox Council more enthusiatically than most.

    Dermot Morgan, famous for his Father Ted series, originated the idea years before with a character called 'Father Trendy'. In fairness, with this character he was not attacking the Church per se, but lampooning the new development of priests who seemed to consider courting personal popularity more important than doing their proper job. This was combined with a nauseously condescending attitude towards young people, who were treated with bad cathechesis, bad jokes, bad pop music and generally considered incapable of understanding the serious or the sacred. When this mockery of the Truth was conjoined with the sexual abuse scandal, the Irish Church unsurprisingly found herself completely hollowed out and now we are reaping the whirlwind.

    The tattoo perhaps is part of the gnostic rejection of reality that is also associated with those who are so loudly rejecting their sexuality. In other words, it is part and parcel of a mentality that has come to imagine that they can recreate God's Reality in their own fashion. As Love, Truth and Beauty are from God, the rejection of the latter logically involves the corresponding denial of the former qualities. In fairness, I would not attribute such gnosticism to most of the idiots going around with tattoos. Their primary motive would be stupidity and a lemming-like mimicism. As they have not been properly formed in the knowledge of what represents Beauty, they can't be entirely blamed for the rejection of it. Nevertheless, there are quite a few that must know exactly what they are doing.

    Dostoevsky proclaimed that "Beauty will save the world". It might now be more accurate to say that perfect ignorance will save many.

    The Bible actually prohibits tattooing and piercing. Pagan practices that were forbidden for the Israelites.
